Fg Uncover Plot To Sabotage Power Generation by georgecso(m): 7:28am On Apr 08, 2009
The National Integrated Power Project Steering Council headed by the Vice-President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, has alleged plans by top civil servants to frustrate Federal Government’s desire to realise 6,000 Megawatts of electricity by December 2009.
A source in the Ministry of Power, who was also in attendance, told our correspondent that the council had directed the Chairman of the Implementation Committee, Dr. Babalola, to deal ruthlessly with any bureaucrat that might attempt to sabotage the generation of 6,000 megawatts of electricity by December 2009

OPINION
There is a powerful syndicate that specializes in the importation of Generating Sets into the Country that are planning to thwart the effort of the Federal Government not to achieve its set target. The Federal Government should place ban on the importation of generator. Nigeria is the highest importer of generating sets.

Maybe they are the people sabotaging the power but just doing eye service to look good in the public eye.

We have what you call kleptomaniacs as leaders. If i where leader of this country, i would simply round up all these so called saboteurs using the state apparatus and have them executed at any local bar beach. fin-to

Oh!! How convenient for the FG!

We will now divert our attention to those accused of supposedly plotting to sabotage power "generation" now, forgetting that this is the same FG that has put its iron foot in the way of progress in the same area, for the past 2 or so years now.

This is either the most clever manipulation of public frustration about lack of power, or the most wicked design against our hopes of achieving power sufficiency. If you believe that sabotuers or generator importers are stopping Nigeria from achieving self power sufficiency, then you must be a fool embarassed
The generator sellers have no power over the federal government to make the right decision about the power industry.

The generator sellers did not:

1. Stop the FG from privatizing power supply like telephone services were privatized

2. Make corrupt gvt. officials award power contracts to incompetent cronies who are unable to do the work, but have good connections to Aso Rock--rememebr the Iyabo Obasanjo episode and her Austrian firm controversy. Iyabo is not an electric contractor, but was able to influence billions of dollar worth of contracts to a company incapable of doing the job. Where did the generator sellers come in again?

3. Make the federal government apply redundant policies that makes it hard for states and companies generate their own power.

If the FG uncovers a plot by some people to sabotage power generation, FG should also hatch a plot to deal with the sabotteurs.

when is the FG going to uncover a plot to provide good governance?
Re: Fg Uncover Plot To Sabotage Power Generation by McKren(m): 4:32pm On Apr 11, 2009
When a Government that is so dictatorial as to ban all sorts of import goods just because they want to give monopolistic advantage to PDP funders begin to talk about people sabotaging a Government project, you know that cant get any more mischievous.

If there exist any so called Generator importers sabotaging power project this govt can simply by a stroke of the pen arrest whoever and imprison them. The govt should stop being juvenile when it has no political will to serve the people.
Re: Fg Uncover Plot To Sabotage Power Generation by Seun(m): 4:40pm On Apr 11, 2009
Idiocy of the first order. How was NEPA before generators became popular? Absolute idiocy.

Another diversionary statement. Pls, how can you sabotage what is not in existence? We are talking of POWER here and the Federal Gumbo thinks sabotage is the problem, I am sorry for Nigeria. What is not enough can never satisfy!

The FG is just admitting its failure. Simple.

@kobojunkie,
on a different topic' Re: I Don't Believe The Problem With Nigeria Is Their Leaders , u supported the poster and u have the following to say, @Jamace, can I ask that you actually read what is up there ? The dude makes it clear that he believes NIGERIANS are to blame. If you say that the leaders are to blame, then that means Nigerians are a bunch of COWARDS,and I hope you can see how their cowardice poses a problem.

EXACTLY!! That is the problem with Nigerians. TOO afraid to step up to take back power but willing to sit back and blame the few( about a couple thousand) men, each with one head, and from the same Nigeria, for the woes of over 140 million. COWARDICE and nothing more!

kobojunkie,
with your position on this topic here, it is like you have joined the millions of cowards in nigeria? is it possible that you have changed your mind? why are u blaming the leaders here? was your arguement on the other topic just to argue? do u have anything to say in reconcillation of ur two different position on the two topics?

@topic,
the pdp led govt has done nothing but to prove to nigerians how unready they were to lead nigeria. look back at yar adua and jonathan goodluck, both men were not in any manner redy to rule nigeria. the only man nigerians will blame in the present situation is that man who forced these men on us as well as forced us on these men.
what i do not know as a person is what these guys are still doing in aso rock. they lack everything a leader shld have.
we are victims of obj's madness that resulted in our refusal of third term.
they are only waming up for second tenure hence the need to buy time.
