Reviving The Nigerian Youth Movement ( A Means To An End) by vladimiros: 12:27am On Sep 14, 2015
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nigerian_Youth_Movement

I am going to be short(in parts) and brief, The Early set of Nigerian Youth Movement was founded in 1933 by Prof Eyo Ita, it later became an early pioneer platform for early democrats like Azikiwe, Awolowo and others after they returned from studying abroad, their unity and vision for a democratic Nigeria was so strong they won the 1938 lagos Town Concil elections from Herbert Macauley’s party. The rest was history.

Now, lets bring Nigeria from a fairly educated youth perspective,
Nigeria is adiabetic Right wing shith0le for we youths in this country.
Our leaders come and preach Religion and fake African unity to us only to come and steal our resources dry while creating an “us vs you” scenario, trapping the gullible to the the most educated, case in study Nairalands Politics Section.

Let me start with my state Akwa Ibom, Building a Multi Billion Naira Hospital yet flying abroad for an accident that could have been treated here, you dont have to have a fully functioning brain to know that money has been stolen in Akwa Ibom, yet we youths cant complain because “ atleast they man work even though in steal”

FVCK THAT RUBBISH.

I am young, I am left wing, I will fight, I don’t want to be like these 45 year old men who come together in weekend beer parlour Parliaments to complain about this country, yet when they have a chance to change it, they go to their villages to campaign for local government chairman or if they are” hopeless” enough go all the way to state senate, where they steal whatever remnants their superiors have left for them.

By the time they climb the layer cake, they are going for Commissioner or house of reps, where they go from stealing =N= 1 Million (as Chairmen of their local Governments) to 15 Million Naira, and after this “8 years of stagnation “ they go for the mega Governorship spot, where they can Milk poor citizens dry and when they are called on their kleptomaniac ways , they play Nigerians like a game of Chess, spewing rubbish like God vs Allah, Yoruba vs Igbo, This vs That.

We need a revived Nigerian Youth Movement, left wing ( lets be honest an African left winged is pretty much a European Centered ideology). We have the Internet at our disposal and Nairaland as a platform for our ideas.

In 1938 a Young Zik and Awolowo, did it earlier at the expense of the British Breathing on our Necks they did it, they defied all odds, they formed the Nigerian youth Movement and with their education and expertise in the field they steered us into Independence..

But by the time they entered power they all forgot what they fought for, and became like what I complain about “Diabetic kleptomaniac Right wingers”, greed took them. We won’t be part of that.

Ok cool
Re: Reviving The Nigerian Youth Movement ( A Means To An End) by vladimiros: 12:32am On Sep 14, 2015
This platform would be open to all Nigerians with a discussion of how youth can be part of this Country’s foundation again( WE ARE DEAD ), how we can say what we want and guide for future Generations.
Singapore Built an economy through an Entrepot Economy, Nigeria has the resources Singapore Imported to be Refined and later exported, yet we cant figure out how to diversify a bloody Crude Oil Economy after 50 years of enjoying its benefit, if Okonjo iwela or Sanusi had an educated 25 year old recent Masters in MBA in their round table, Nigeria road to Diversification would have been simple and technocratic enough for the retard to understand.

But what do this Old geezers know? Just themselves, we have become a State of Now and Myself, the youth suffer through Ageism, and all hopes of reaching the top to Ignore us has fallen on deaf ears who reply us by playing us against each other.

I was a strong PDP supporter( check my history), even went as far as hating People who hated my Dear South South region, LOL stupid me, I easily became a pawn to Akpabio’s game, but now I declare NO MORE!!!!!!! I would rather take destiny into my own hands than watch myself become another Animal in this cryonic boondoggle.

“Cryonics (from Greek κρύος 'kryos-' meaning 'icy cold') is the low-temperature preservation of animals and humans who cannot be sustained by contemporary medicine, with the hope that healing and resuscitation may be possible in the future.”
That what we are in Nigeria, we can steal preserve this situation, but for now its all frozen.

& finally
My 4 Initial ideologies ( which we can add and change some features, along the years)

1) Creating of a true Leftist State In Nigeria, which Centers around the educated Nigerian youth sentiments( Like Mao’s version of Communism in China, you don’t import the full European ideology, you tweak it to what fits your situation)
2) A call for stronger federalism In Nigeria, Aso Villa should not Dictate to Kogi State how it should control and Monetize its Mines, what rubbish..
Aso Villa should not tell SS and SE states how to control their Fossil Fuels investments, and later give the same contracts for Oil wells to their friends.

3) A true tax System in Nigeria based on what you earn, ( you could call it a socialist type of tax), For Example:somebody earning 150K a Month should be paying atleast 15-20K naira in taxes every Month, and when he pays it, he should be able to track what his tax payer money is used for.. Also, someone earning 500K a Month should be paying 50K in tax and see what his tax is being used for.
In a true federalist system, this tax is well collected and paid into the state Government, who then pay their own tax to the Central Government, thereby making states, rich and we wont have issues like Aregbesola or Akpabio looting, because we all have the records and are tracing it.

4) A call for proper ethical studies in this Country, My Grandfather was complaining about corruption in the 1960s, My father in 1980s, me in 2015. Should my Children also be complaining about Corruption?? What the Fvck
Lets tell ourselves the truth, We steal because its coded in our DNA!!!, our blueprint has programmed us to fend for ourselves no matter what, and we go the “extra” mile to get it.
We need to start teaching ethical studies to our youths as early as Nursery School making it compulsory for all educational levels up to Universities, a Nation with ethics would plant the seeds to grow into Trees in 50 Years.

OP You are a true son of your father,

I have been waiting for something similar, and also coming from a leftist, I feel we can get something for ourselves here.

You said you are from Akwa Ibom? I am from Cross River, our ex governors used style to milk us, spending money on “tourist” projects while not using its full budget and pocketing the rest.

It’s a real struggle, its kinda late right now, but in the morning I will write down my own ideas for this.

I am with you.

I am Going to Center on one of the ideologies and The most Controversial

Ideology 1:
Creating of a true Leftist State In Nigeria, which Centers around the educated Nigerian youth sentiments ( Like Mao’s version of Communism in China, you don’t import the full European ideology, you tweak it to what fits your situation)

There is no country in this world that fears God more than Nigeria, yet there is no country that disobeys his rules like Nigeria. For people so close to God, we seem to love the Devil’s company.
Now before you call me an atheist, just know that I believe in God, but I personally believe we should keep Religion in our Churches and Mosques and nowhere else..

Nigerian Politicans have used the “ God factor” to toy with our sentiments , if you make one step to one direction they say its “ a sign of the end of the world”, or my personal favourite “ Its not in my holy book”.
The most educated societies in this world are the most atheist, why? Go figure.

Now back to the discussion, a leftist can be seen as a liberal or Radical, and we need to tell ourselves the truth, “ Progressivism” that we practice here has failed, the only difference between APC and PDP is one has a Broom and the other an Umbrella.

For this reason is why I detest “Sharia law”, if a woman who is of working age in Nigeria commits adultery, why stone her to death? What good have you brought to this country’s mindset both to the dying girl and the brainwashed plebs about to stone her to death??

Can’t you educate her on the ills of cheating?? As for those about to stone them why can’t you channel their energy in being blood thirsty to read a book on reconciliation and spreading the concept of doing something meaningful with your free time.

Another I detest is Churches collecting Millions for Offerings, knowing full well that most Nigerians below the age of 34 would NEVER see the benefit of that offering..NO your church new building that needs Millions or sometime Billions is not going to add anything to you..whatever you think it wont.
How can a Church be seeking billions in offerings for a “sexy” new cathedral yet it won’t make the same effort to train its young members below the age of 25 on how to acquire new skills like carpentry or coding.

Here is a Mini task for you, the time you spend going to Church during midweek, use it to learn a computer coding language like HTML then to CSS, after One Month lets compare the difference in skillset to someone who spent his Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings spending 2 hours in church, paying an average of 200 Naira per offering.
We need to be leftist to our own degrees, if we adopt full European leftist ideologies it would be catastrophic, too much change in a short period can’t be sustained…

We need Young Educated Nigerians to dish out their feeling not fearing repercussions from the Imans and Bishops, we need Nigerians who value work and constant growth during the week, and in the weekends go to thank God for making them work hard and give them better ideas.

We need Nigerians who are not afraid to bring the idea of taxing our Churches, there is so much Money to be made in Taxing our Churches.

Imagine in an a residential area in lagos or Abuja, the money taxed from Churches at a rate of 10% could be used to sustain clean pipe born water in that area, it’s a win-win for all parties, the Churches have made a service to their community, and the state has offered a need using a medium in which the people feel “ morally justifiable to give money” .

Take a look at Marijuana, I don’t support people smoking it, but there are other mediums to make money from Marijuana, like in paper production, to cosmetic herbs, Nigeria produces a large amount of Marijuana only to be seized an burnt by our so called NDLEA who think every happy looking youth is an addict of something.
Now lets channel our youths energy for making Cannabis into using it for Clean industrial purposes of cannabis which are not for recreational uses and BOOM!, you have created an industry which provides jobs for the people.

Our youths need their rights to live, work and express opinions freely in whatever part they are in Nigeria without fearing repercussions.

The Nigerian Leftist should embrace Common Sense and education, No matter what, the will to keep learning about his surroundings, what mediums have worked and how to apply these techniques in Nigeria.

Until we meet again.

Your Bolded, hit home My brother, I know about 3 unemployed youths who spend more time in Church looking for employment than, in a skill centre learning more skills and developing themselves. Our Spiritual leaders have found a loophole to our problems but instead of finding means to help us, they turn it into a money making scheme ( you can quote me)

Our youths need to know the importance of taking what they want by their own will instead of waiting for “divine” miracle to lead them, as if the pastor who needs their money would use it for “devine purposes”. Why spend Millions on a new Church Building when you can use it for a skill acquisition centre for you unemployed Church members?

I am waiting for an extra analysis on your second Manifesto point, it seems only 2 of us are here, but hopefully we would grow into more users.

Another thing is we might need an official site, like a wordpress or . But starting here on Nairaland is good enough I guess.

I have time to spare this morning, so I will add my own Ideology, this may be just 2 of us but I don’t care.

Ideology Number (7):
An Actual Economic “Cloning” Committee:

In Nigeria of Today, after more than 50 years of independence, we still can’t come together to bring about an Economic diversified front for Nigeria and her future Generation.
You already mentioned Singapore, which I think every African Country can emulate, we need to “clone” other economic ideas that have worked when starting from Nothing and Implement it here in Nigeria.

Singapore started all by using the Entrepot model, get raw materials from other areas, refine it In Singapore thereby getting jobs for the citizens, and later exporting it at a Higher price leading to a trade surplus for the Singaporean people.

This economic moves led to other great achievements, whereby a Banking sector grew, all that import and exporting needs the backing of a strong banking sector therefore 2 Sectors are growing now ( Industry and banking).
With the entrepot model reaching world class mediums, the Port sector had to be at its very best to maintain all the trade going on, this led to Singapore Ports being on of the most busiest and most efficient in the world.. now we have 3 major sectors in our hands ( Industry, banking and Maritime)

This is not a miracle, its common sense, import models that worked and can work from scratch with Nigeria have man power potential more than Singapore.

^^^^^^

Thank you,S ingapore Government has 2 Sovereign Wealth funds, Temasek Holdings and GIC Ltd, Temasek grew by bringing investments into Singapore for the aim of exporting, which led to a positive trade surplus.

There is so much to learn from bringing in new ideas to Nigeria,

I will write about the 2nd Ideology expanded later this evening.
