Some months ago i wrote an article on why the Deltans are not igbos and should be left out of the Biafram struggle.

Today while watching a Nigerian Movie title " The Meeting Silverbird Cinema "

I watched this, and I noticed the igbo lady trying so hard to make sure that Rita Dominic a Delta woman accept that she is Igbo and not Delta.

Why are igbos this forceful. Deltans say leave them alone and you are still trying to force yourselves.

I urge all those from Delta state not to allow themselves to be used as a tool in the hands of some so called Biafran Preachers or Agitators.

My friend go and watch the movie and see how it played out. You here saying something else. I even uploaded screenshots.

In the movie Rita is from Delta State and the igbo lady was trying all her best to ensure Rita accepts she is igbo and Rita proudly stated that she is not igbo but from Delta state.

Your Dad is not far from the truth.

Deltans are really More of Yorubas, descendants of the Bini kingdom which genealogy traces back to Oduduwa. Deltans should be call yorubas and not igbos

Delta is a state made up of several tribes including Igbo.

Delta is not igbo, just like nigeria is not hausa nor igbo, delta is a mini-nigeria, delta is a multi ethnic state with various ethnic gruopranging from urhobo, ndokwa, ijaw (izon), igbo, isoko, ika and itsekiri. So igbos are also deltan.

How dangerous some people can get with Igbo issues. Rita is not even from Delta. She is Imo. Albeit she may also not be Igbo as she may be Isoko but she is from Imo.

We are not claiming all deltans are igbos, we are only claiming our blood brothers in delta state. (The igbo speaking deltans), we are not leaving without them. The same applies to igbos in Rivers and Edo state respectively. We not claiming the whole of Rivers state or Edo state. But we can't leave one inch of Biafra /igbo speaking fellow behind

who told you igbos are looking for people to join them. we are already over populated. we don't need more people. we are even trying to see how to maintain a healthy optimum population. so my dear, if are delta, be delta, if you are Hausa be Hausa, if you are Yoruba, be Yoruba, if u have no tribe, please remain like dt. I don't know why things abt igbo people deprive many people in dis country of their sleep. Give us a break pls

Yes we the igbo speaking Delta's are Igbos

I am from Isele-Ukwu in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State.

We speak igbo but a different version of the one spoken in the South East.

My Grand Father have always told me the history of how we came to reside across the River Niger.

If Biafra should exist today, We are part of it.
Yoruba people una no dey tire?

Let's be reasonably here. Delta is a state not a tribe or ethnic group.
In Delta state there are lots of ethnic groups like Igbo, Urhobo, Itsekiri to name a few.

OP, I suggest you study the meaning of 'ethnic group' and rewrite your post or study Nigerian history before the white man arrived in Nigeria and also before the creation of states.

to me delta is fuse with different people
that's y u have a delta state up in u s a
if u travel to some part of the state u no what i mean there are (kwale) who speak and sound a little like the igbo and down to anzoro and also some order part to.
now the irobo and isekiri have similar culture to the yoruba and even speak like them

The Ikwerres, Etche all speak Igbo. Are you saying that they should not be classified as Igbos?
