The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State publicly stated on Tuesday that former President Goodluck Jonathan and his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) should “bury their heads in shame” for running Nigeria like a Banana Republic.

The Party also said the ranting of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on President Muhammadu Buhari's ministerial list is unnecessary and unfounded.
‎In a statement issued by Omo'ba Abayomi Adesanya, the Party's Publicity Secretary, Nigeria as a country was rock-bound and comatose when Buhari took over control of government from the PDP government on May 29, 2015.
Mr. Abayomi further added that Jonathan and ‎his PDP have temerity and audacity to fault the government of Buhari, which has good plans for Nigerians.
Abayomi claimed that, "PDP leadership lacks morals and shame. Who in this country, doesn't know that Jonathan and his Party are responsible for the messy and sorry state of affairs we find ourselves today?"‎
He argued that Dr. Goodluck Jonathan's PDP government handed Buhari and his Party a virtually empty treasury ‎and a battered system.
The Party affirmed that Buhari's delay in his ministerial nominees could be attributed to the ‎sixteen years the PDP government misgoverned and wasted.
Abayomi explained that "[t]he slow pace in the economy, misrule, maladministration, unprecedented corruption and mismanagement of the country's treasury during the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) administration were part of the obstacles that affected the smooth takeoff of President Buhari's led federal government."
The APC stressed that "anarchy and impunity" were the order of the day upon assumption of office.
The APC spokesman used a Bible verse to justify the President's action, asking critics "[w]hat can the righteous do, when the foundation is destroyed?"
According to him, it is logical for anyone who intends to make a nearly collapsed building habitable to demolish it before laying a solid foundation.
However, the statement ‎added that Nigerians and Nigeria's diaspora know better and that Jonathan and PDP are only playing to the gallery to cover up their mess and distract Buhari in his war against corruption.
