Adjo10:
Under the Brazilian immigration law of 2017, a tourist visa cannot be changed to another visa in Brazil. It can only be changed into another form of visa in Brazil in only 2 circumstances thus:

1. When you give birth to a Brazilian child
2. When you marry a Brazilian

What do you say about that? Are we better informed than the Brazilian law makers about their own country? You see my friends... context is everything. It is not illegal to give birth in Brazil. Period!

This goes to show that you have not been reading or you deliberately refused to understand what the issue is

exactly so

we do these things; Yea

But the truth is that it's WRONG

Wrong is an understatement, many here are morally bankrupt and will never see anything wrong in abusing any system as long as they are selfishly benefiting.

I’m not surprised one bit that you came up with that because since April 2009 when I joined this forum and started fighting individuals like yourself who either support or give excuses for all sorts of shameful behaviour by some Nigerians.

I’m not a saint but When I see what is wrong will call it out and not keep kicking the can down the road

I don’t care if you are a loyal members here or not, I will keep saying this whether you like it or not.

Nairaland will move on even better without you and me.

If you are expecting me to apologise then I suggest move on quickly because You are not getting one .

What shameful behavior ? Say people comot go give birth for other another then the country offers free health care . Some people aren’t aware of the free health care they just want their offsprings to have another nationality base on our bad economy and system .

Please answer this question righteously . Do you live abroad or naija ? Have you ever live abroad for more than 3years ? Do you have dual citizenship ? Can you tell us that everyone you know family or friends travel the right way without a stain in their documentation and paperwork while abroad ? Bad is bad but don’t generalized it, if you have not sanitized ur own compound .

Yes I live abroad, yes I have lived here longer than 3yrs and no single member of family ever ever got involved in immigration fraud.

I’m not responsible for what my friends do neither do I have any friend who is into immigration fraud and actively support such and there is no compound to sanitise

Fine , you live abroad by birth or relocation ? Did you pave the way for your family or the family pave the way for you .

Of course I know where your question is heading to which is why I told that it’s irrelevant.

Your next question will be how I become a dual citizen and if I explained you still ask another irrelevant question.

I have been here before many times in this section and after explanation I will still get another irrelevant question thrown at me.

@justwise

stop abusing the word fraudulent. I have followed the back and forth and I think @Adjo10 summed it up nicely. Since it is legal for tourists to convert to other immigrant categories when they give birth on Brazilian soil, even if it is a loophole..it is not fraudulent to take advantage of it. I think that's taking it to an unreasonable level to demand you must use private healthcare just to prove you are doing the right thing when it is legal for both tourists and citizens alike to access healthcare. it's a bit rich to say only those that can afford private healthcare should take the plunge.

I'm sure the Brazilian government aren't stupid, if and when it becomes a problem for them they will change there laws.

Another person who can’t read or refused to understand what the issue is.

I pointed out at least 3times here that I’m not against citizenship by birth but against people doing it fraudulently hence the issue of paying for private health care.

I think I understood your point. Correct me if i'm wrong. You are saying since tourists from Nigeria know they are going there for birth purposes and not for standard tourists reasons hence why they should get a medical visa that expressly deals with that scenario and give birth in a private facility where they can pay. Your issue as I understand it is the intent from here(in this case naija) and not the citizenship question per see.

The problem with your thinking if i'm right is that it is also legal for tourists to access the healthcare, which immediately brings up the question why should I pay for what I can access freely most especially if I can't even afford the private healthcare and want it. That's the main crux as I understand it

this up here is admission of guilt

you know that's wrong

But due to "jaapa" levels or whatever
being Nigeria
people do it...

But we have to say the truth
what is bad , is very bad

even if people do it.

Drug dealing is rampant in the USA
But it is never justified, even by those pushing the thing

What is wrong is WRONG
Nigeria un fortunately has not gotten to that level of maturity yet

all of these people still believe that a tourist abusing the Brazilian free healthcare system (meant only for Brazilians/residents) is RIGHT, simply because there is no law "yet" against it. with such failed state of mind, no wonder Nigeria is going nowhere.

if you go to Brazil as a tourist and have an unfortunate accident, then by all means use you travel insurance to get emergency treatment in a private hospital OR use the free healthcare system (if you aint got insurance)... but if you specifically travel 5000kms pretending that you are a tourist, simply because you want to abuse their free healthcare system (and avoid paying for such treatment at home), then i am sorry sir, however you want to look at it, thats a fraudulent act.

Mind you the public hospital here is open to both foreigners and citizens .

If our system is good nobody go leave the country .
Bro I no sabi your status ooo but as for me ooo I no pray make any of my offsprings pass through half of wetin I encounter during my upbringing for naija .

Almost every middle class for naija they go born abroad . For there own personal reasons but mostly citizenship purposes .

well I am NOT a Nigerian resident like that

(spend less than 3 months there)
and yea, Nigeria is a very hard country to live in

But still.....

all these we are doing to "escape Nigeria" is somewhat crooked

the end justifies the means, like many Nigerians think
But they should not justify such
