You should have posted this @ the car talk session, but when you have a system too rich try the following.

Check the mass airflow sensor
Check airfuel sensor
Do a complete tune up which involves servicing of fuel injection nozzles, changing of spark plugs, air filter. Hope this helps. Lastly check fuel pressure from fuel pump
