Amid the controversy generated by the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) order for the arrest of Senate President Bukola Saraki, the police said, yesterday, they were yet to receive a bench warrant to effect it. “I am yet to see one”, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr. Solomon Arase, said while responding to a Sunday Vanguard inquiry.
The CCT, headed by Justice Danladi Umar, had, in a ruling on Friday, ordered the IGP and other security agencies to arrest Saraki and produce him before it tomorrow (Monday) to face a 13-count charge bordering on corruption and false declaration of assets. The order and subsequent bench warrant followed Saraki’s failure to appear before the tribunal for arraignment.
The CCT order was in negation of an Abuja Federal High Court order, on Thursday, stopping the tribunal from commencing the trial of the Senate President. While stopping the trial, the High Court summoned the Federal Ministry of Justice to appear before it tomorrow (Monday) to show cause why Saraki should be prosecuted.
The court equally summoned the CCT Chairman, Umar; the Chairman of the Code of Conduct Bureau, Mr. Sam Saba; as well as a Deputy Director in the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation, Mr. M.S. Hassan, who signed the charge sheet upon which Saraki is to be prosecuted at the CCT, to appear before it.
“The police are yet to receive the Code of Conduct Tribunal bench warrant”, ordering the Senate President’s arrest, a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), ACP Adebisi Kolawole, also said, yesterday. Meanwhile, senior lawyers, who spoke to Sunday Vanguard, yesterday, faulted the order of Justice Umar.

Only nairaland masturbators assumed IGP would carry out such a witch hunting order. I hate Saraki with a passion but please, let us be reasonable for once. Assuming both CCB and federal high court are even equal and coordinate courts, the FHC is the ist to make an order. In order not cause confusion, the CCB ordinarily ought to wait till Monday and then challenge the FHC over its jurisdiction on the matter. Once CCB frees itself from such legal hurdle then it can make an order. Why were they in a hurry? This is beyond Saraki and apc. We are about to set a very bad precedence. No sane person with conscience will support an order given by A CCB chairman who himself refused to appear before EFCC to answer his own allegations. The earlier buhari distance himself from this CCB chairman, the better. Once they succeed in labelling the only PROGRAM OF BUHARI A WITCH HUNT( cos he has no other program so far than probe jonathan), THE REGIME is finished and with the way apc is going, they seem to think corruption fight is an effective tool for witch-hunt.

He is ready to appear on Monday, hence, the stay on his arrest.....but for him to think he can use the law as delay tactics to his trial is the biggest joke however, failure to appear on Monday at the Tribunal will definitely afford him the humiliation of his life. Saraki can not preside over the Senate with the current case on him.

The rise and fall of Bukola Saraki...... Saraki left the PDP for personal reasons......not because he wanted CHANGE. This is evident in his behaviour since APC became victorious. APC trusted Saraki, jilted Belgore just to please Saraki. APC asked both Belgore and Lai Mohammed to relinquish the state leadership to Saraki. While Lai choicelessly agreed, Belgore left APC because 'I can never be in the same party with Saraki talkless of him leading me'.....Raji Fashola spoke and appealed to his bosom friend Belgore not to leave APC but the latter sought Fashola's understanding on the fact that Saraki is not a human being and that APC will regret having Saraki in its fold. APC openly celebrated Saraki. Saraki nominated every single political appointments in Kwara......he took over the structure of the APC in Kwara. Buhari and APC preferred Lawan from the NE instead of Tinubu's friend Akume and Atiku's choice Saraki. Tinubu being a smart man quickly asked his friend Akume to step down for the Party's and President's choice Lawan. Akume, another reasonable politician agreed! Tinubu is not just a driver, he also know when to accelerate and when to march the brake!!!!!!! Saraki wants to be number three and therefore, his cupboards must be opened, we must know his condition and fitness......if he passed this current test, then CHANGE will admit him but if he fails......CHANGE will purge him........
