good afternoon guys, so I kinda bumped into an heated argument between a medical doctor and a lab scientist, and the doctor was like what we are studying for a whole five years as a course they do it in a semester, that stuff troubles me alot, I wanna ask how true dat is?
response will be appreciated..
Medicine and surgery do pathology which deals on the clinical aspect of laboratory tests and has nothing to do with how tests are done. There is no where in medical school that staining procedure for demonstration of glycogen in tissue is taught or how to carry out test for LE cells. Same way they do pharmacology which is just an aspect of what pharmacy do in school. They don't do and never do what you do in school. If a doctor claims he do all you did in school, give him a blood sample and neubaeur counting chamber let him do WBC count on the sample grin

Pls guys..my friend had a pass in medlab..what do u advice him to do plsss
Advice him to go for PGD in Medical Laboratory Science, he or she should try obtain Good grade and then do Masters.
In terms of Practicing, grade is not relevant but license.

Currently there is no transfer to MLS in Uniben. Alternatively go to medical complex when school resumes and ask around in the dept. MLS hardly takes transfer
You graduated from Uniben?

PGD is usually 1 year in some schools, it could be more, depending on the student and school.
Almost all the schools in Nigeria accept 2.2 for masters application. Some will say a CGPA of not less than 3.0 on 5.0 scale. You have to find out from the school you are applying to.
PGD is mostly for Third class, pass and HND graduates.

There is a circular/memo going round that FG has stopped paying interns/house officers.
Reason being that; internship is part of our program and as such, doesn't have any need to place interns on salary scale.

They only approved allowance for them.

How true is this?

It depends on your interest, future outlook and ambition, and the location where you wish to study.

You can get accepted for Masters abroad with your Bachelor's degree. Even into PhD programs if you have a solid research background with proofs and a solid work experience. Abroad is a big term, regions and countries have more specific requirements

Hello house. I have a BSc & MSc in Molecular Biology & Genetics. I’m currently an intern in a Covid testing lab. As I’m just starting my career, I need some advice on how to excel in this field. I want to know what the career path is like in a country like Nigeria and how I can get the best from this field. Also, is there a pathway to travel out? Thank you.

National diploma from Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, Ondo State.

The process is long but worth it. U must reg jamb for DE, get ur transcript sent then await UNN's entry exam. To be on a safer side, u must score at least 250.
