Bukola Saraki, APC and Politics: Lessons I have learnt.

For few days now what has been trending all over the nation is the brouhaha imploding and extrapolating between political bigwigs in the nation. But, as sensational as the travails or otherwise of the Senate President may look, I have been able to get some few lessons from the whole show. Permit me therefore to reveal some of the lessons so far learnt.

1. When a friend tells you about the faults of his 'former friends' because of their disagreement, beware of the secrets you keep with such friend. He may start your topic with a new friend when you disagree.

2. In politics it cannot be overstated that there are no permanent friends or enemies, only permanent interests.

3. If you aspire for a great position, especially at the expense of your close associates, be sure there are no skeleton in your cupboard.

4. If you plan to betray your friends, ensure you make up with your enemies. Why? You will surely need them to survive the battle.

5. Politics of whatever genre, class or group (Workers Unions inclusive) can be very dirty. So if you're planning to get yourself involved, be ready.

6. There is no Justice in Law. This is universal and not peculiar to this country.

7. A man can go to any length to protect his friend, but the day the same person becomes an enemy, the same person can go to any length to crucify him.

8. Lastly but definitely not the least, THE PROBLEM OF NIGERIA IS NOT CORRUPTION BUT THE CONSTITUTION!

God bless Nigeria.

#Shalom

Because we allow our sentiments via media and politicians to think for us, we refuse to do some critical thinking...APC hoodwinked lots of folk because they allowed APC to do the thinking for them for whatever myopic reason...

Nigeria as it is today is structured to fail...our problem like Op stated isn't necessarily in the faces in Nigeria as Buhari/APC lies always, but in the structure as Jonathan told us by insisting that we build strong institutions not strong individuals...Confab restructured Nigeria a little bit if report is implemented but buhari won't implement it because of his sectional mindset...

If our structure is right with appropriate institutions then most of the problems will melt away with nobody even lifting a finger against them...

Don't be ridiculous bro...

1)Nigeria doesn't need any saint to build institutions or to restructure...

2)Whatever amount spent on any celebration is subject to NASS appropriation ...

3)Why does police still steal and vandals roam about and treasury still looted after Jonathan left

4)I believe you love Jonathan so much unlike me that hates buhari according to you, that you remembered how much he spent on celebration but forgot how much he saved us by stopping the unending story of fertilizer scam etc in Nigeria ...smh cheesy

We need saint! infact we need over a million, south africa is good today because white people stayed till 1990s,black mentality are very low and corruption is the only problem destroying african countries,a situation where road constructed in 1970s are better than road constructed in the years 2000s moreover you guys should stop talking about jonathan, this is a man who single handedly destroyed Nigeria to the extent that federal and state government were not able to pay salaries again, and man who was sharing dollars in thousand just to win election,We South-westerners dont hate jonathan we just voted him out because he almost destroyed Nigeria beside we massively voted for him in 2011

My last reply to you on this...

1)You're not realistic...Keep up your story telling anyway...btw You love Tinubu who has raped your regional and local economy to coma via his cronies and companies but hate Jonathan a federal executive which isn't a grassroot government...

2)Before you keep consoling yourself that it is Jonathan who killed SW states economy...Kindly check out other states under same Jonathan leadership eg Anambra...

3)SW since independence has voted along ethnic line...Tinubu disagreement with buhari in 2011 made SOME SW to vote Jonathan... http://www.dailytrust.com.ng/daily/politics/50349-2015-presidential-election-how-and-why-pdp-will-lose

4)Do you need me to get you a mat as you await your imaginary saint

5)What did Aregbesola share again?... Ajimobi nko?... what about Jagaban? https://www.naij.com/340944-who-is-sharing-dollars-at-the-apc-presidential-primary.html

I will prove it rather than delete it. Let me state again for the records that Nigeria's no 1 problem is not CORRUPTION BUT THE CONSTITUTION.

The 1999 constitution which the country currently operates is so skewed that it gives a lot of rooms for corrupt individuals to wiggle their way out of mess. They not only get away with crimes but even glory in it.

For example, there are two constitutions in the 1999 constitution - the Nigerian law and the Sharia law. The same law which made the constitution supreme also gave powers to certain individuals to operate by the Quoran. If you steal for example in Lagos you may be sentenced to jail, but a man who commits the same crime in Kano may get his hand mutilated. What a country!

Consider also the issue of plea bargaining. A corrupt individual sees the hole and explores it, that he returns only a tiny fraction of what he stole and goes away with the rest.
Timeline is not also set in trying cases that's why I'm about 70% sure Saraki may go unpunished for his suspected crimes.

All in all, if the constitution becomes a document of the people, through it strong, virile and incorruptible institutions will be built making Nigeria a good place for us all.
