Myrahv: 'Biko welu ya nwayoo' is Anambra dialect, in standard Igbo it's 'Biko Were ya nwayoo.' It means: Please take it easy. Or Abeg take am easy. |
Re: Nairaland Official Igbo, Hausa and Yoruba Dictionary by Myrahv: 1:53pm On Apr 09, 2018 |
gozzlin: Thank you!! And the last word which is typed as 'wayaka' (but maybe it should be spelled differently?), what is that? |
Re: Nairaland Official Igbo, Hausa and Yoruba Dictionary by gozzlin: 2:33pm On Apr 09, 2018 |
Myrahv: You're most welcome. 'Wayaka' is not Igbo. My guess is that it means 'take it easy' in another African language. You could hear Yemi repeating in the chorus, the words; 'biko welu ya nwayoo, wayaka, karibukiti,...' I'm almost certain they each mean 'take it easy' in different African languages. |

Poet Heywhy speaks on the past! When we travel into our past, we tend to swim in rivers of memories while stirring waves of emotions. But, the important question is, do we wish to live in the past? Does our past interest us? HeyWhy speaks on Africa's past! What happened during the days of our father's? What was the schedule? This is poetry cum revelation, directly from the mouth of an African. You know, no one tells our story than we do!.. Enjoy http://www.whykeanthology.com/2018/04/time-past.html Proudly Whyke. |
