Rebranding Will Fail If Corruption Is Not Addressed - Shobanjo by tamme: 12:31am On Apr 16, 2009 |
The Chairman of Troykar Group and boss, the Apprentice Africa, Mr. Biodun Shobanjo, has predicted the failure of the country's ongoing rebranding exercise if the issue of corruption is not properly addressed. Speaking at the annual distinguished personality lecture titled, 'Building a career in advertising-reconciling town with gown', organised by the department of Communication and Language Arts, University of Ibadan, in Ibadan, he said there is a need for a focused leadership in order to rebrand Nigeria. According to him, "what are we rebranding when there are basic deficiencies in the system? What kind of rebranding is that when leaders are neck-deep in theft? We cannot rebrand a country like that because there are fundamentals that need to be in place" "The leadership should show good examples and devoid themselves of corruption. Have you ever seen a good product come out of a leadership that is not focused? People need to discipline themselves before we can fix things back," he added. On education, he said that there is a need for government to increase funding in the sector in order to revamp it. He said, "Today, there are organisations that feel they should not employ Nigerian graduates, not because of these students themselves, but because the government had consistently denied the universities the kind of life-line that they need, which is money". |

I have qouted time ane time again, that popular American saying 'YOU CAN PUT LIPSTICK ON A PIG, IT'S STILL A PIG' Madam Rebranding Dora Akinyuli may have succeded in rebranding NAFDAC because she has shown determination and leadership BUT from Yar a'dull to majority of his ministers and substantial numbers of politicians, they are not material upon which anyone can be prepared to rebrand and repackage. As Americans will say ' they are outright crook and should be in high security prisons' Barao bansa , rebranding my foot. How can word becomes honey in the mouth of organised liers. imagine a government with people like AGF Aondaonka with IBORI etc. what a waste of our precious time. I am sorry for prof. Dora Akinyuli, they will soon finish her credibility and dump her. Think about it for a minute, do anyone has fear of EFCC again. None, nada, nilch. ANIMALS CALLED POLITICIANS, who should all have undergo a psychiatric test before contesting for office. majority have IQ of a dumb 419 gangsters. Anuofia all of them |
