Ex-Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State is one man that is not ashamed of his humble background. The speaker turned former number one citizen of the state made some shocking revelations about his private life recently.
The former chairman of Nigeria’s Governors Forum revealed that when he met his wife, Dame Judith Amaechi for the very first time at a friend’s wedding (Major Chidi) where he toasted her and she gave him a fake address. He added that when he went to look for her at the Rivers State University of Science and Technology, he discovered that she had given him a fake room number and he could not find her.
As luck would have it, the former governor said he ran into her again one day at the estate he was living then and she now gave him the correct address and the rest is history. The governor also confessed that he was born into a poor family and he was always hungry in those days. He added that he doesn’t smoke nor drink alcohol.
