Nice course though,u could take to consultancy and float ur own
security outfit.
Better still u could land a bank job,afterall its an all comers affair.
Follow ur heart but in my opinion,i wont recommend criminalogy and security (just my opinion)

you can work in system /fraud control unit of most banks if you can prove your worth.

Nice course but fairly relevant in our environment. I actually wanted to go for it back in the days.
But u could still get a job in the Secret Service, & other Force related outfits.

You do not need such credentials to join the Police, SSS, RRS, EFCC, DMI or OPC

While relevant in the Nigeria of today, you must seriously review the reality of our situation when it comes to Security-Related employment and what is deemed relevant skills or requirements.

We have got Auditors for Financial Institutions (Banks and the likes)
We have got Forensic Experts in the Police Force (i doubt their competence though)
We have got Jazz-men in the Vigilante Units (I doubt their sanity not their traditional competence)
We have got prophets in the Churches ( i take their take with a pinch of salt and lost of garlic)

What you might really want to look at is forming your own Private Agency.

The reason our Police Force still have sooooo many unsolved crimes (Dele Giwa, Bola Ige, Funso Williams, Clifford Orji, Guru Maharaji, Tafa Balogun's Missing billions) just goes to show you that while it demonstrates a gap in our Security Practices, I think that gap is intentional, you might be seen as anti-progressive.

you can either work with efcc, police or if u want to be independent, buy 2 or 3 den guns, hire some jobless youths and VOILA!!!!. . . u have ur very own security company

That is a very nice course, but you know our country. I don't think we are ready for the truth yet. See what has become of Ribadu and his EFCC achievement. If your heart is in it, you can go for it but do not bank on being relevant in this Naija.

My dear Sofeo, that's a nice coure u 've chosen , however, I wuldnt advice you to do that at that institution , EXCEPT u already have some other qualifications frm some other institutions.

Try gettin pals to find out frm HR Mgrs what they think abt a certificate frm that inst., as compared to one got frm a part-time program frm any of the Fed or State univ. U dont want to spend ur hard-earned resources (time and cash) only to be losing job appointments to candidates wit d above-mentioned qualification .

Why did you say I shouldn't go to NOUN to study it?. but I think NOUN is the only school that offers that kind of course at degree level. And NOUN is the only school that offers it really.
Maybe I can now go for my masters at UI, cuz UI is offering it in masters level.
How do you feel about that?.

@posterboy, dont take all these opinions to heart, criminology is a decent course and a well specialised one, if u fancy being a policeman, go for it, u will be topnotch, asp minimum, but i advise u to do ur own research as well, talk to a couple of educated policemen that u know and query the relevance of that course in the industry, over the long run, u can start ur own security consulting outfit, take awesomepal's advice tho, look for a more competent school, cheers
