Just getting a news from my timetable officer for physical sciences that prepares exam timetable

Saying that uniben authorities has not given them an update concerning the SHIFT OF EXAMS FROM 9TH JAN TO 9TH FEB.

He advised we should read.

I got from another source that the SUG gave the senate to put it into consideration and not a decision or agreement..

Before we know their final decision..we should pick up ourselves to read and prepare...

If you have not picked your books, you still have the time..

We should all understand that uniben love their reputation than their students..

God bless you all

This is to bring to your notice that according to the assistant dean of School of Basic Medical Science, exams in the School of Basic Medical Science for 300l to 500l would start 16th of January, 2016. He further stated that the shift in the date by 4 weeks was for 100 and 200l only due to the delay in resumption by the new intakes and Direct entry Students.
He also said that the 100l exams will be CBT completely and not just GST.
With a face to face chat with him today, he made it clear that the exam timetable will be out this evening and once it is out today, it will be forwarded to you all.
Let us all pray that the school management have a change in heart and fully extend everybody's own by one month.

SUG UPDATE 29/12/2016!!!

Season's Greetings Uniben INTELLECTUALS, we hope the Festive period has been fun for us all.
This is to remind you that on the 21st day of December 2016, the Senate of University of Benin approved the request by the Student's Union Government to amend the 2016/2017 academic Calendar by shifting the first semester examinations by four weeks ( one month).
To those who have made it a habit to continually spread false information to cause tension and chaos among the Good people of Uniben Students, it will interest you to know that a decision made by Senate could only be reversed by the Senate and not Faculty Board. (I still wonder where you got your info from).
According to the Dean Of Students, the management would release an update to this effect. Please Note that the Exact date of the commencement of exams would be released by the management.
Our Season of Xmas and New Year will not be spoilt by Bad News like exams in January in Jesus Name (Amen...)
The Office Of The Public Relations Officer (PRO) and it's entire team wishes you a Prosperous New Year and also encourage you not to relent in your Studies as an Adequate Preparation Prevents Poor Performance.
In all, let's not forget that SAFE IMPACT 2016 always will represent your INTEREST PROACTIVELY BECAUSE YOU SPEAK WE LISTEN thereby enabling us WIN TOGETHER.
.....IKOTU GIDEON KELECHI represents YOUR INTEREST PROACTIVELY BACK TO BACK.

Compliment of the season.

hi I'm more interested in the part I just marked with red ink..
I'll be applying to uniben in next year's jamb.
I don't know anyone in Benin and I'll be coming all the way from akwa ibom state to school here.
Lastly I'd want to chose mass communication but due to it's stiff competition I'll relegate to the barest minimum by choosing a course in the faculty of education as I can't stay at home any longer as age isn't on my side anymore ...
Heard uniben only used jamb scores to determine admission which isn't a problem but I'm afraid of O level grading as my waec results are embedded with C6 through out . .
Should I chose benin or go for another school?

Please answer my questions accordingly, don't leave anyone out
Thanks

.........WAYS TO MAKE GOING TO CLASSES MORE FUN AND HELPFUL

1. Show up to every class

To become a successful student will only happen by being present. Missing classes can mean missing out important information and good opportunities for improving your understanding of the material being taught. Your class attendance also has a big impact on the impression you leave on your instructors. Even in large classes, they notice when you're not present. They will be much more willing to give you support when you need it if you demonstrate your commitment by showing up consistently. And also learn to go there early.
2. Stay attentive

To enjoy the benefits of your hard earned clases, you need to stay awake and interested. Texting and answring messages while classes are ongoing and other distractions make you lose focus. They make it hard for your brain to absorb the information it needs for making sense of the subject matter you're trying to learn. Think about you trying to brethe in and at same time whistling.
3.Take smart notes.

Don't try to capture everything being said by a lecturer word-for-word. Instead, listen for the 'big ideas' and see to them in your own words. Taking notes like this will allow you to concentrate fully on understanding the material being presented rather than remembering everything being said by the instructor.
4. Stay organised.........continue reading...
