There is no doubt that the Nigerian political sphere is one of the most dramatic in world politics. Thanks to the growing political awareness among the populace. growing up and seeing how much morality has degenerated in Nigeria and more specifically among the political class. It was a case of flagrant abuse of power and total lack of accountability that has over time made looting a norm rather than vice. Thieves were openly celebrated and awarded with all sorts of chieftaincy tittles just as a way of saying well done and keep the looting flowing. With the masses totally weakened, the political class attempted to redefine stealing and corruption. They told us that stealing was not curruption and that when you loot public fund it shouldn't be seen as corruption and that it was not a big deal. In time the thieves grabbed this ideology and raped the country to coma. As if that was not enough they ensured that the oppressed masses and the institutions who should checkmate them rather became a willing tool in their quest to ensure that the loot keep flowing only to themselves and their cronies.

Fast forward to late 2014, the masses became fed up, the desire for change grew like a wild fire. Even though the available option may not necessary be the best but the need to breakaway from the past was all the country needed. The people wanted stealing to be corruption and wanted a genuine change as Nigerians have become slaves and refuges in their own country. The outside world already new our problems and had predicted the break up of the country in 2015. In all honesty with all the uncertainty before the elections even though I believed we would pass through it, at a point I felt maybe that was the end of this country that even foreigners see with potentials. We all know how it ended.

Now the elections are over and all the people want is to see that their lives change for the better. Though the early signs have been mixed but I personally feel slow and steady wins the race. However, what has surprised me is the new found Nigerian spirit and the desire to show their displeasure at those who they feel only raped the treasuries under their auspices. With the courts seen as too slow to administer justice thanks to the conniving lawyers who have mastered the art of manipulating the justice system in favour of the politicians you can only imagine how betrayed the masses feel. In order to register their displeasure the aggrieved people have chosen to embarrass the thieving politicians by pelting them at any given opportunity. That has been the plight of the former governors of Niger state, Abia and most recently the senate president. This actions have no doubt sent a strong warning to the political class that the era of taking the populace fogranted is over. How time flies and changes. This should not be interpreted to mean we should encourage jungle justice as the court is still the one to make such pronouncements. However I feel the awareness is plausible and this would only mean that once political thieves are decriminated, despised and stigmatized like a plague of Ebola, then things can only get better. Few hours ago I read some senators are already afraid to be committee chairmen. How things changes when we had members who take to the boxing ring just for greed.

As for baba even though I have my reserves, I can only feel that things would get better as long as u don't take us fogranted. No doubt ur intents are good and in time we shall rate how you have changed Nigeria. Truly the evil that men do lives with them in Nigeria.
