Reps Probe Saraki's Trial by Nobody: 8:44am On Oct 01, 2015 |
Reps probe Saraki’s trial BY OUR REPORTER ON OCTOBER 1, 2015 POLITICS Score self high as Nigeria marks 55th Independence anniversary From Fred Itua and Kemi Yesufu, Abuja THE House of Representatives yesterday, covertly backed the embattled President of the Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki by calling for a probe of his perjury trial. The House also called for the protection of principal officers of the National Assembly against external attacks. Minority Leader of the House, Leo Ogor, in an amendment to an earlier motion on Independence Day celebration, moved by Raphael Nnanna Igbokwe, proposed that the Speaker, Yakubu Dogara, should embark on a fact-finding mission to ascertain what led to the travails of the Senate president. He urged the Speaker to report back to the House after which a formal position would be taken by members. Ogor, who noted that in a civilian dispensation, the legislature is the foundation of democracy, urged members to protect the legislative arm and fence off any external influence. He stressed that the onus was on them to protect the legislature and make it truly independent. Meanwhile, the House has scored itself high, arguing that the parliament has achieved a lot since the country got her independence in 1960. It stated that the parliament succeeded in stabilising the polity, while making relevant laws that have helped in moving the country forward. Mover of an amended motion, during plenary, Hon. Igbokwe, representing Ahiazu/Ezinihitte Mbaise federal constituency of Imo State, urged the House to cease the opportunity of the Independence celebration to reflect on where the country has been in the last 55 years. http://sunnewsonline.com/new/reps-probe-sarakis-trial/ |

I think this is the point where PMB has to come in. Why can't you people let Uncle Saraki defend himself |

Pa chukwudi44, sure you saw "covertly" in that report. Same Reps that have sent Dogara as an emissary to PMB to PLEAD on Saraki's behalf. You actually believe they will dare , believe whatever rocks your boat. |

Will this stop him from facing justice? It's not surprising seeing thieves doing everything possible to shield a fellow thief from paying for his crimes. It a normal occurrence. The surprising thing is seeing people who have been made paupers defend the same looters who stole their own future for their children and grand children. Theirs is worse than the Abobakus'. |
Re: Reps Probe Saraki's Trial by Nobody: 8:56am On Oct 01, 2015 |
modath: Pleading indeed!! Dogara was charged to report back to the house so that a decision can be taken on the matter. The reps members know it might be Saraki today and any of them tommorrow hence the need for both houses to close ranks and fight their common enemy.Buhari would soon find out this is 2015 and not 1984 |
Re: Reps Probe Saraki's Trial by Nobody: 8:58am On Oct 01, 2015 |
PassingShot: The trial is already DOA as the relevant sections of the CCB act was not complied with. |

This man always smell anything Saraki from distant kilometres! Haaaaa Oga Chukwudi, don't let this Abobaku title get stuck oo! Well, what I heard is that the Speaker should go beg the President on Saraki's behalf. And don't forget so soon the part of the Presidents speech where he said "Don't be afraid of me but be afraid of the consequence of your actions". 1 Like |

PassingShot: Saraki is not a person or the sanctity of the position of SP what they are sympathetic to, he is just a means to an end to fight & malign the government... Did they care about him prior to the party endorsing Lawan?, they are just being diagreeable for the sheer hell of it!!! They are in a running & certain loss battle against a force that is bigger than themselves, let them keep amusing themselves in the interim... |
Re: Reps Probe Saraki's Trial by Aufbauh(m): 9:01am On Oct 01, 2015 |
Surely they shall gather, but because their gathering is against the people they shall stumble & fall. Unfortunately Saraki trial is beyond the legislatures. They can only make laws which is already in place, they have no capacity to interpret or execute the law. I don't see one arms of government fighting the other two arms and coming out victorious. Assuming Saraki is convicted by a competent court under the judiciary arm, and the police under the supervision of the executive arm take an appropriate action by taking him to prison, what will the legislators do? They should keep deceiving themselves until the day of reckoning. 2 Likes |

Re: Reps Probe Saraki's Trial by PassingShot(m): 9:03am On Oct 01, 2015 |
chukwudi44:Your wish. Which relevant section? Very soon, you will understand that Saraki has to fully submit to CCT trial and will have to prove himself innocent of all allegations. No hiding place for the wicked thieves in this regime. |
Re: Reps Probe Saraki's Trial by Nobody: 9:03am On Oct 01, 2015 |
modath:Lolz the NASS united together are very powerful!! If both arms are united they can frustrate Buhari!! |
Re: Reps Probe Saraki's Trial by SeverusSnape(m): 9:05am On Oct 01, 2015 |
PassingShot: THE DULLADIST PRESIDENT IS ALSO CORRUPT, They are all corrupt, He also declared a false asset. But take note, Saraki is here to stay. |
Re: Reps Probe Saraki's Trial by Nobody: 9:05am On Oct 01, 2015 |
PassingShot: The trial is already on as Saraki has been docked what more do you mean by "fully submit to the trial"? Section 3(d) of the CCB act was not complied with before the case was taken to the CCT |
Re: Reps Probe Saraki's Trial by PassingShot(m): 9:09am On Oct 01, 2015 |
chukwudi44:You will soon understand the meaning of "full submission" in the fullness if time. The section you refer to has no effect in the trial. Or does it affect it? |
Re: Reps Probe Saraki's Trial by Dannyset(m): 9:12am On Oct 01, 2015 |

Re: Reps Probe Saraki's Trial by BALLOSKI: 9:17am On Oct 01, 2015 |
An attempt that will end in futility. What's hidden about saraki's travail that you need to probe to understand, you airheads? Probe what and on what basis? Leo ogor talked about the independence of the legislature, but he wants the house to encroach on the independence of the judiciary, another independent arm of government that has embarked on it's constitutional function. Why are these dolicocephalic men so stvpid? |
Re: Reps Probe Saraki's Trial by Nobody: 9:18am On Oct 01, 2015 |
PassingShot:You people have been saying this for too long. una " fullness of time" no de end? Of course without recourse to section 3(d) the CCB has no case |

PDP are fighting dirty, as the days roll by, I'm sure APC will put themselves together resist the head moles that hell bent on thwarting the efforts of the President in tackling corruption. |
Re: Reps Probe Saraki's Trial by fkaz(m): 9:24am On Oct 01, 2015 |
This Leo Ogor is funny, so speaker Yakubu Dogara, should embark on a fact-finding mission to ascertain what led to the travails of the Senate president? Why the haste? Speaker yakubu should wait for his turn, no need to set up committee and waste our money. CCB will come and meet them very soon. |
Re: Reps Probe Saraki's Trial by BALLOSKI: 9:26am On Oct 01, 2015 |
chukwudi44:you know nothing about the section that was mentioned by that anonymous member of CCT/CCT in the report you posted yesterday or so. Why th cct did not inform saraki was because his is not a case of under-declaration , like Tinubu, it was a case of declaration in anticipation of the property he was to acquire in 3 years time from the time of his declaration of his assets. Tinubu had 3 charges against him, and chief among them was his foreign account and which was dormant throughout his days as governor. And they felt that he did not declare some of his assets before he assumed office, so needed to call him and hear from him why he did not declare that particular asset while declaring others, and this the tribunal did not and led to the death of the case. Saraki on the other hand , over-declared and even included a property he was not owning. You see why it will be difficult for saraki to escape? |
