my dear you don't need to explain much I have seen his type on this forum angry I have a feeling they have an organisation. (scammers association of Nigeria) Emmanuel Awarite is definitely their leader. angry I wonder why people can't be truthful. See, what I will advise you is: Ask yourself "Do I want my money or not" if the answer is yes then from what I have read this guy won't pay you back your money because if he would, he would have done that by now. So next line of action is to involve the authorities now that this case is still at the baby stage. If you don't mind losing the money but created this thread just to make people aware of another member of their organisation; then fine let the E-war continue... THREAD would most likely hit 50-70 pages with the sellers image ruined to the point that first thing that appears when his name his typed of Google search is the word SCAM!. So your choice.

Forget about paying back the money, its not gonna work. Unless op is ready to part with some money.

First of all 30k for registration and 20k for driver WILL NOT be refunded.

66k for repairs won't be refunded either. And it is likely op has spent some money on the car himself. So in a nutshell, if the car is to be returned op should be ready to lose about 120k (I didn't include 14k battery as that can be returned since chucky didn't buy the battery).

So if op is ready to lose this much, then he should return the car. If not he should work out with chucky and get at least some money for repair, or just take this as a lesson and move on. I am not in support of chucky, what he did was despicable and the way he responds here only shows he has no remorse.

To those it may concern, it is highly possible for a car that is over 10 years old to be in pristine condition whether Nigeria used or not. I mean... What are you guys talking about? cheesy

That said, i think we need a third party assessment of this car by a nairalander in PH probably with police escort or using any other way of ensuring his/her own safety, because the noise everyone is making here may not do anything in Oseri's interest ultimately.
Abeg move away from here if you dont have anything meaningful to say. So its not possible for a 10 years car to be in pristine condition yet the OP put that in his advert. Why are u down playing the fact that thr OP dubiously and fraudulently sold a lemon to the OP. If the OP knew the faults all along...he had a choice to want the car and fix or not. Not after paying for a seemingly good car and then discovered a "lemon car" was delivered. Just look at the advert and the pics posted. And for your info even a car over 10 years can be in prestine condition. Not every one is rough like u. My dad used a bull dog for over 10 years, even though the body was resprayed like 3 times or 4. The interior was perfect, ac working perfect and engine never changed. Mind u the leg never pulled once. But after he sold it not cos it was faulty but cos he got tired of it...he saw it at ikeja area one day just barely a year after with the leg pulled. Meaning a dangerous owner now drives the car.

You av an option to get ur cash back but u dnt want to, instead u want 50k to urself plus the car after the guy left 100k for u. Haba nau, fear God small.

It's funny how things have eventually turned here. I remember what I said in one of the previous scam threads here, that when we finally destroy the auto section and kill buyer's confidence here, that maybe some of us will eventually become happy. I only used the word "we" because I'm an auto dealer here, and not because I'm a part of this mess(God forbid I lose my senses and allow such a thread be opened for me). All these image spoiling and aspertions being casted on your personality(chucky234) would not have happened if you had quietly given him the 50k before he opened this thread. The funny thing is that, the total amount you even got from this transaction,is not enough to repair your tainted image. I see people quoting me and mentioning me on your thread to say you're a scammer, and posting links to this thread;how do you intend to remedy that situation? In business,"IMAGE" is everything. Why do you think multinationals spend huge sums of money on branding and advertising? Why do you think large corporations prefer to settle cases with agrievd clients out of court, and most times pay heavily? No businessman wants a negative publicity;that type of publicity is for pop stars. On a normal day,I like to stay out of people's issues and look from the sidelines but when I start seeing comments like: "they are all the same","never trust an auto dealer from nairaland",etc,I become forced to speak up. The point is that, when you guys have issues with clients and refuse to settle it amicably, and allow threads like these to be opened, you automatically start using your reggae to disturb other people's blues. The bad publicity you've gotten here is more than 50k;what kind of business sense is that? Is it that you like to be grouped with rascals like inspiredm and ademola of tripple A motors,or you just want to become popular for the wrong reason? Incase you do not know, the easiest way to lose your image in naija today,is to be called a thief or a scam artist/fraudster...

My advice to you is this, apologize to the OP and nairalanders in general. Saying sorry won't kill you or make you shorter. You've lost much more than the OP with this thread cos your image has been battered already. Give him the 50k to sort himself out even if it's a loss on your side;that's business for you. Not every business transaction ends in a profit. Oyibo wey create profit and loss account for us,know wetin dem dey do. Move on to other deals.

My advice to other dealers: please, let's learn the act of being honest. We live in a virtual world where a private transaction between 2 people can get into the ears of millions of others within a few hrs via the use of social media and the internet. These are very powerful tools that can make or mar your business and image, depending on how it is being deployed and who is deploying them;there is no hiding place for anybody. I try as much as possible to be very careful with whatever I say or do online cos I know it doesn't end here. Moreso,I wouldn't advice anybody to willingly market a faulty vehicle;how much is the profit that comes with it as compared to the troubles? And if you must market such, state clearly all the faults you know. It's the least you can do to help yourself and the prospective client.

There's no perfect (zero issue) car on naija road..all this adverts on nairaland are overstatement to make the buyer comfortable...once a car hits tincan..the road, the weather, the user nd the mechanics are the calamities that befall every car....if u are lucky enuf to get a car with good engine, transmission and brain box..i feel the rest might just be tiny issues dat won't cost huge amounts to fix....in this case the buyer ddn't do his inspection at all and was expecting too much from a naija used vehicle..but at the same time he trusted the seller....yes! He might be asking for too much reduction to make him accept the car as it is.....chucky234 ..I dnt know u in auto section.. but u do good bizness in pet section nd u ensure pple dat are trying to sell DEF for ABC are exposed....this guy is ur customer...for the sake of relationship...give him something it won't kill u...already the price u re letting that car go is already too low...it won't cost u much to come a bit lower...the OP isn't considerate....but he's the buyer nd buyers ain't always reasonable cos money is hard to come by....if u don't have any reason to pay him the 50k he wants...pay him nd apologize because he trusted u enuf not to check a car b4 paying....trust is hard if I can pay 50k to buy trust I would do it and do it all over again

Funny world. Well I blame the OP. I repeat, I blame him. It is not a crime to trust yes and that is true but the honest truth is that if you work hard for your money, you should be cautious with everything that has to do with money.
Sometimes in July, I saw a add on 2003 Mercedes Benz W203 C200 on nairaland as advertised by CHUCKY234. I was interested in the car but my location was a barrier. He agreed to help me deliver to my location after paying the driver. But after a lot of consultations with friends, I decided to go see the car myself in UYO. We agreed on #850K.
I went with a friend that knows a little about cars. We left VERY early and got there by 2pm. On seeing the car, I was disappointed, a lot on scratches on the body( considering the fact that chucks told me, the car is 9 MONTHS used in Nigeria). That was a turn off already, I looked around the tyres, they're all deplated only one was good. My friend said it can be fixed but let's start the car and see the performance of the engine. We started the car, throttle but no response, we throttle again nothing, at this point my friend said the car is worth #500k because the fix could amount to 200 or 300k. I called him and told him my observation but he keep saying the car was sound before it left Lagos and it's one his drivers that drove the car to Uyo. And the faults with the tyre must have been as a result of bad road. To cut a long story short, he said I should pay #700k but I insisted on #500k and the deal was off.
I learnt a big lesson that day NEVER EVER to pay for a car I've not seen and have properly inspected because dealers can be deceptive, all they want is the money, so you can't get the truth all the time.
Chucks is not a scammer but there are some crazy deals in which one should be careful about like the one the OP is talking about.

When i read some comments, i couldn't help but laughed. I will simply reiterate the obvious

Terms of sale: chucky234 agreed to deliver a benz 240 2002 model with all the contions below

Take note of the the 'clean interior and exterior'
When i contacted chucks, he mentioned low coolant and engine oil as the only faults which he said he was going to fix. Based on the a sum of #730k was agreed including 20k for transport to PH and 30k for fresh registration.

I transfered 630k to chucks plus additional 14k he claimed he will use to buy a new battery which he never bought(Fraudulent act 1)
Chucks gave the car to one mohammed(driver) to deliver to me. After two days the driver agreed to bring the car to PH. I had to leave offshore to be available in PH on the said day. When i called the driver to know how far he has gone, he told me there was hold up on the road. Later he said the ATF was leaking. At this point i called chucks to tell him the situation. He said the driver will fix it at his own(chucks) cost. All this was a lie as i get to find out later. The driver never let Lagos(fraudulent act 2). The driver later opened up to me that the car is not drivable that he needs to :
1. change the air control module and MAF sensor
2. that the two front window glass weren't working, will need to replace the two door module
3. buy 12 spark plugs and 4 litres mobil 1

At this point, all effort to reach chucks was futile(suspecious act 1). When i asked the driver if he can contact chucks, he said chucks is very sick and can't talk. I was furious. I wanted the car. I told the driver to contact Gazzuzz for repair..... in a nutshell i spent 66k to get the car fix.

On receiving the car, the interior related fault, power steering and brake system fault was evident. The horn, driver's airbag, passenger front seatbelt defects were also evident. The next day was when chucks finally sent me whatsapp(suspicious act 2). I was angry and listed all the faults to him. I told him this was't the agreement that either he fix the car or he return my money. Then chucks phone won't go through, he won't reply my whatsapp. It was at the point i told him my father is an herbalist that he started responding(lol).

I told him to return my money. Because i threatened him with my father being an herbalist that he will tell his lawyers one in lagos and the other in abuja to come and inspect the car before he will refund #590k. The amount he will be refunding which is 120k less the amount i've spent so far was the reason i told him to give me 50k to help resolve the issue. Chucks agreed but he never gave me the money. he said he was never going to pay.
I told him i was going to open a thread here, he said he can always defend himself
Keep lying to convince your low life followers, when I sent the driver's number to you to keep in touch with him was there a time I told you that the guy is a mechanic?
Did you bother to consult with me before sending him money? You never called me to tell that he requested for money from you.
As for the battery I told you the licensing guy said CMR usually take two weeks to be ready but they can fasten it with additional 4k, I had to buy a toks battery and gave the guy additional 4k and you were aware.
The CMR, vehicle license and number plates are your personal property as they are not transferable.

The accused is very much guilty , IMO and not different from Inspired and others. Let's get that very clear.

He advertised ABC but delivered DEF. On top of that he's feelinf funky and fly cos his e buddies( more like cabal) are right behind him , subtly cheering him on by calling a spade an eating fork.

The accused claimed he's refunding the OP and claim back his cargo since whenever, OP has accepted to that so the big question is " why is the car still with the OP ? Why have Chucky not refunded up until now?

Thieves everywhere. Why can't people just be and stay honest?

Chairman this is not about been remorseful, the dude wasn't remorseful when he threatened to end my life in 7days with the help of his herbalist father's juju. You lot don't know what happened between myself and this guy offline, I was even begging him instead he told me in capital letters that he "beats children in their mother's presence".
As for the 14k he sent for battery, I explained to him that the licensing guy said CMR takes two weeks to process but they can facilitate quick process with additional 4k, I paid the 4k because there is no way the driver will drive that car all the way from Lag to PH without CMR.
I had to buy a toks battery for the car as mine was already weak, I explained everything in detail to him, but he is the one playing the victim here and everyone is singing his praise while Chucky is the bad one.

@ chucky234, why not save whatever is left of your face and call the op to settle him. If you can't refund him now, pledge a date when you can and work towards it.
Second paragraph : LMAO.

Every one is s car dealer, importer, busy business man on NLD auto section. Criminals and hungry things looking for who to scam or cheat.

Well said.
