We all know that Christians have a lot of traditions and doctrines. Although many of our traditions had been attacked and changed, there are still some core traditions remaining unchanged. There had been this search for the right doctrine. Many Christian leaders have lunched out into the Bible searching for the correct doctrines like hunters hunting for meat.

This agitation is driven by the fear that the wrong doctrine would take us to hell. Oh, how Christians have little idea of what would take them to hell or heaven. The truth is that the concept of traditions and doctrines to a carnal man is different from that of a spiritual man. But many Christians are carnal, so they look at traditions and doctrines through the eyes of a carnal man.

The question is, are we suppose to have traditions as Christians? What is the root of traditions? I would say it is the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Yes, everything carnal comes from that tree. The carnal man only knows how to live by the knowledge of good and evil. They always need a laid down methods and practices for them to be able to live each day and in the absence of that they just don't know what to do.

This is the reason why Christian pursue doctrine; they need to know how to live as Christians, they need to know what to do and what not to do, they need to know how to handle this situation or that situation and in fact they can't live without these knowledge. As a result they rush to the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, and with the knowledge of good and evil they construct the right and correct Christian practices.

This is how the spiritually dead live but this way of living is not meant for those who have been impacted with the Life from above. The spiritual man is meant to live by the Spirit.
"The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.” (John 3:cool.

The above Scripture implies that the life of a spiritual man seems to be unpredictable - "you hear the sound of the wind, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes." You see the spiritual man doing things but you don't know what cause him to do it or why he is even doing it.

Another scripture says about the spiritual man: "no one can properly discern or appraise or get an insight into him." (1Cor 2:15 AMP). The spiritual man seem not to have a laid down way of doing things, in fact he doesn't have a tradition or a doctrine. He is governed by a law that is spiritual, a law hidden from the natural eyes. The Bible calls this law - "the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus" (Rom 8:2).

Yes, the spiritual man live by the Life and not by the knowledge of good and evil. The spiritual man act base on the impulses and instincts of the life of Christ in him. This is the true Christian doctrine and tradition. A tradition of living by the life of Christ in us, a practices of responding to the spiritual impulses and instincts and a doctrine of learning to live by the life. So the meaning of doctrine and tradition to a carnal man is different from doctrine and tradition to a spiritual man.

Doctrine and tradition in the old creation is different from doctrine and tradition in Christ - the new creation. But we must be able to tell the difference between the two and the difference is simply life and death. Look at how dead is the Christian doctrines, we keep doing the same thing over and over again with no life. And how we try to fuel it with religious enthusiasm but yet, life is still missing. We need to become spiritual, yes we need to return to the true tradition and doctrine of Christ.

Like Christians being an example of tradition of the world, tradition of men, tradition of the people of Antioch

Christians is to tough a meat to chew, talkess swallowing, attempts to swallow have led to most choking on it or throwing up

Are you shocked by such immaturity in supposedly grown believers?
- immaturity a consequence of stunted spiritual growth

Hiswordxray:
The question is, are we suppose to have traditions as Christians?
Believers are meant to be the light of the world

Believers define their ''authentic'' self, after who they are by God, called or by Jesus, called
and not by who the people of Antioch etcetera call the believers

Hiswordxray:
What is the root of traditions?
Traditions are mostly a means to an end and not necessarily the end itself
Often, traditions are jettisoned once one translates from a child of God, coming of age turning into a son of God

Hiswordxray:
We need to become spiritual, yes we need to return to the true tradition and doctrine of Christ.
Like Christians too being an example of tradition of the world, tradition of men, tradition of the people of Antioch
and not a true tradition and doctrine of Christ

Christian can be a starting point, an introductory and elementary tag for the ''green behind the ears''

My bad then. I assumed you wanted to conclude because of the 2nd space immediately after that was kept empty so I thought you'd reserved for the conclusion. Anyway, nice write up.
