if it's about the distance I'll say it's very OK. but from your explanation it's sounds like a two day job, meaning you guys will be leaving in the morning and returning in the evening of the next day. If that's the case guy that money too small.
But if you sabi them and you know your accommodation and security is guaranteed and you feel it's play by you? Why not! Go!

Thanks. They are well known; and should provide accommodation, feeding and security for the two days. I guess the 20k is not bad then?
... It's just that Berger traffic that scares me

I'm looking at the time

If you leave Festac, say 8am and get to Mowe by 9:30am, will they be keeping you there till the next day?
And if yes, what time will they leave the next day? All these will either make it above 20k

My advice? If they are leaving in the morning. Tell them you'll drop them off and come back the next day to pick them at 20k

I'm just looking at your time sha

Ok. Noted! I'll probably also need to find out if they intend to use the car for movement within mowe during the 2 days, as that should mean extra cost.
Thanks for your time and advice. God bless you

Let me share this experience so people can be more careful as we approach yuletide.
Left coker road ilupeju to Ikeja bride but the heavy traffic on ikorodu road made us to pass gbagada-estate alapere to alausa. On getting to alapere before oando 9:33pm, the babe at the back sit called my attention that someone was flagging me down that we even thought somthing happened to my car(a corolla), on seeing the car whose driver was trying to stop me, I can't remember knowing anybody by that car, the guy blocked me in front to the fast lane and came down pointing to his rear bumper that I scratch him. I was surprised because I didn't get close to any car let alone scratching somebody. Came to my driver side telling me to wind down that I scratch him, I refused to wind down saying I did nt, though i was afraid because i knew this guys are robbers with that strategy, he was talking and knocking my glass I did not bulge and the lady in my car was also telling me don't wind down and so afraid and shaky. His car was tinted and wound up and even at that, he was sweating with that his black ugly face and feeling uncomfortable when I refuse for like 1 minutes, meanwhile another car was blocking me from behind which was obvious they were together. When I refused, the car behind me reverse and I quickly reverse and left too. Every other cars were just passing by thinking it was normal I scratch u argument. I drove and pull over beside those police van at ojota towards tollgate, came down and explain the encounter to the officers their. Then I saw the guy's car passing and was looking in our direction. Why didnt he came down for us to settle d scratch argument with the police. He drove pass and I just waited like 5 mins their before proceeding on my journey. Guys pls be watchful. God will continue to protect us, coro boys be more alert and don't loose guard. Peace.

Don't mind them.
They wanted to cow the drivers with "how will you survive if uber leaves" to have drivers dance to their tunes like they are slaves to uber and riders.
Like we said, uber, bolt, Opay and the rest aren't doing any drivers favour by coming to Nigeria, they are here to make money and they need drivers to make that money

eherbal:
the driver is king, bae, and bride.Ocar's entry has defeated some peeps arguement here about drivers relevance in the hailing business.nobody is going to dobale for any taxi park chairman. It's our time.na uber, bolt and Ocar go dey toast us. Congratulations guys,we won grin

many peeps have been here in the past sugaring their earnings and making hard working folks look lazy.my brother, they fizzled out before you know it. It was like they never existed.they pushed many peeps into trouble with their fake lives. Someone makes a #15k killing by Providence consistently for 3days,he comes here and starts bothering folks how easy it is to net it, whereas,it's mother luck that just smiled on him temporarily.
People have lost their health and cars trying to meet up with the joneses.me?I'll just say work within your limits.stay healthy to work another day. See this hustle as a temporary one while building a solid business model for yourself.dont overdo it.its a rat race.
boss, I dey tell you. Some people Just posting figures anyhow as if , we don't know watsup,

like I posited earlier, for you to make 7 k net on taxify on a normal day, you have to do #12,500 gross without your tolls o.

#12,500
Bolt commission - 2,500
Gross- #10,000
Fuel @least - 3,000
Net- #7,000.

The good thing is maybe providence cud help you jam some offline trips that cud now offset the fuel cost.

And its not about using two apps. You can't get equal participation on both. One app will be skewed in usage over the others. You can't be on both at the same time.

Guys please be very careful when driving. Don't over-speed or drive bumper-to-bumper; especially directly behind a long truck or container-carrying-trailer. Just heard news that my son's teacher died after their danfo bus got crushed by a container that was rolling back on apongbon bridge.
It's a sad one to take, cos she was young (below 30 years) and very full of life. We've been in tears all morning, but some day we all will take our very last breath and life will go on with others.

Uber go hear am. I see them reducing their commission soon.
This was what we were talking weeks ago. If one platform goes, another comes, drivers go always dey okay and make their money because any platform that doesn't favour drivers will be abandoned by the drivers and can't work without drivers which inherently means it dies in no time
yes, you are right, though somtyms I don't lyk ubers style,

why wud u send me 3km to pick a rider n eventually rider is just going around 3-4km too or just around d street laden wt traffic.

Most of dese apps think only about deir profits n riders( taxify is guilty of this)

Why am I using your app to drive in d first place? Ofcousr, to make 'Profit'.

Sending me all the way to pick someone, I get to d place, rider headed to ICM Ikeja, just across d street, end trip, #375, waited 20mins , no gbagaun. Or sending me to dose those rejected areas n not trying to find a way for me to com out with @ least a trip.

you know how cumbersome ICM is, you HV to park n go n sort deir parking shit @ n all.
Driving in traffic.
I wait in traffic for ONE good hour, engine firing on all Four cylinders , AC in collaboration, stereo in the background too. And all I get in return is #450 !

For one good hour of deploying resources.

This game is a stopgap.....Seriously.

Hi guys I greet you all. All the elders on this forum, all protocols observed.

Please I'd like your unwatered down opinion on this matter regardless of how unpleasant it may sound. The Bible says "in the multitude of counsel there is safety."

I was driving a corolla 2004 a month back but had to return it to the owner because of the many issues it was having. The last being that the brakes failed.

Now, the owner bought the car Nigerian used for 1.25m with the odometer reading at its last which is 299999 (yea I know, right) anyways, when he told me about it and I took a look at it, I had my doubts the car would be a smooth ride on the platform but I still took it because I like trying things out before concluding.

Fast forward two weeks after putting the car on the platform and driving for just one week I noticed the car shorts oil which i mentioned this to the owner and managed it again for another week where it develop another issue. This time the issue had to do with the noise coming from the adjuster. I took the car to the client who then decided to change the engine and after engine change everything was smooth except for increased fuel consumption which was due to the fact that the car on idle mode read 2000rpm.

I took it back to him and the mechanic adjusted it and everything was fine. Though, prior to the change of engine the hub of the car, as I was made to understand by his mecahnic needed changing because it caused a loud wooing sound when I am on 60kmph and was somehow uncomfortable for riders but I totally ignored that.

The pattern became a week on, 4 days off at the workshop because a lot of issues were just coming up. Now the car started developing a fault where it goes off when I am on the move, that I have to shift to neutral while in motion to start the car again. Though God helped me all the times it stopped that I didn't have issues or accidents. I reported it to the owner who got it fixed by changing the remote box and fuse controller or something like that.

This change seemed to work for a while but later started again until God helped me to spot the issue that was causing it to stop through a rewire who was at shoprite trying to shop. The rewire came out from the mall and saw me trying to start the car and asked me to pop the bonnet which I did and he immediately touched somewhere on the fuse box and the car start immediately. I thanked him and he advised that the fault is an electrical issue and not something a mechanic would fix but a rewire I took his number and thanked him again. By the way, this rewire was properly dressed and seemed like someone who was making good money from his job.

While I was wondering what that rewire at shoprite must have touched to make the car start, I later realized that there was this fuse that is labeled 40 that always go hot because it was fused using a wrap of wires. All I had to do when the car stopped was removed the fuse and change the position the other way and voila! The car comes on.

The last time I drove the car was when it failed break on my way to lekki with a rider in it. Though the rider didn't know what happened but after I dropped the rider, I just jejely took the car back to the owner. I told the owner to change all the faulty parts and fix all the issues before the car can work on the platform because the car was now smooth driving after the engine change save for all those small issues that could take a man's life.

The reason for this long epistle is to give a general idea of the cars history which would enable you all make your suggestions.

The owner has fixed everything wrong with the car and done some body work as well. Repairs has cost him over 400k. Now he wants to sell the car out rightly or hire purchase.

Now my questions
1. Would it be wise to even consider this same car for hire purchase?

2. If yes, given all that has happened and the amount of money that has gone into repairs, how much can this car go for hire purchase if at all?

Please your candid advise and suggestions will be highly appreciated. Thanks

it just that drivers won't cooperate, some slackers will still sell out.

The best form of protest is to down tools.

But of course, I understand being on rental or HP puts one on under pressure.

Good day... I will like to ask.

1. Is the only ready to count his loss?

Then back to the issue of HP, I don't know how the owner would want to recoup on such car, for HP I will say nothing more than 1.8m not spread within a duration because something tells me the car will start sakamaje again.
Besides I will advise you not to go back to that car because you may not derive satisfaction driving it as it has always been an "Evil Spirit" to you. If the owner would want to sell it outright then 1m-1.2m would be good.

In all... Advice the owner to Sell it that's all.

Honestly na wetin I dey try explain! Low rating is not low money. You think you're doing anybody any good by accepting trips? Even the owner of the vehicle would even collect his vehicle from your hand before you sing National Anthem finish.

Cancel trips you can't handle. Yes I know it means missing out on the money but if your instincts isn't into it then cancel.

I was at Awolowo by EFCC the other day, got a request, rider said he's on 3MB with a very friendly voice, I just told him bros, I can't come to 3MB to pick a passenger, na so him vex, say what is the meaning of that nonsense? So I should beg you? I answer no sir... You should find your way out of there. After it I saw the client was going to College Road, Pencinema but wetin come concern me.

Story 1
During one of our installs, the client shared with us how Mr Ayo (not his real name) borrowed his brothers car, and waylaid in the night somewhere in Lagos. Unknown to the thieves, the car had a tracker in it. That same night they tracked the vehicle to a military baracks (apparenntly the thieves had accomplices with military connections). They went with the police and they were able to recover the car (THE DEMOBILIZE FUNCTION OF THE TRACKER WAS USED TO ENSURE THE CAR DID NOT MOVE UNTIL THEY GOT TO THAT LOCATION)...

Story 2
Mr Bayo was bout entering his car in the night somewhere in Lagos when he was attacked. He immediately used his phone to demobilize the car some minutes after they had zoomed away with the car. The thieves ran away when they discovered the car wasn't strating again. The car was tracked to Ajah. Apparently the thieves ran away in fear with the keys of the car grin

northbird:

yes, you are right, though somtyms I don't lyk ubers style,

why wud u send me 3km to pick a rider n eventually rider is just going around 3-4km too or just around d street laden wt traffic.

Calm down bro.

Uber/Bolt does not select trips it gives to drivers. It works with proximity/customer availability.

They (apps) have every right to connect drivers to riders no matter the distance the rider is going even if it’s just to cross over to the opposite side of the road.

If you go to any area with low usage of the apps or too many drivers, you’d have difficulty getting a request.

Positioning is key

Also filter your rides. Ask for destination and if it’s not worth it, simply decline. Don’t be desperate to accept and start cussing later.

the driver is king, bae, and bride.Ocar's entry has defeated some peeps arguement here about drivers relevance in the hailing business.nobody is going to dobale for any taxi park chairman. It's our time.na uber, bolt and Ocar go dey toast us. Congratulations guys,we won grin

You are looking at it in the short-term. These guys play long term, at the end of the day, it's their numbers that will determine their policy.

For now, they need to capture the market first, always remember that

I have experienced the same thing. Very strange. From Agungi to Lekki Phase I - N400. The rider was on promo, so what showed up on my screen was zero Naira. Trust these girls and freebies, she was all smiles and still gave me a four star. After she left, I checked details of the trip, realizing how big a promo that could have been, only to find out that the actual fare was N400. Uber took N100 and left the rest for me. I have done a review though and I'm yet to get a response from them. I have just finished updatimg my app to the latest version. Maybe that will help.

Let's discuss alternate models, more like blue ocean strategy, for running a transportation business. I am more than willing, to bankroll it, alone and/or with other guys here.

The model should be a win-win situation for all stakeholders.

Izzou will be the operations manager; he's got the temprament.
