Got a request in Lekki phase 1 and immediately the rider got in, he started asking if I had cash with me. I just told him no, but I have 1k in my ATM that he should transfer the money to my ATM that I will withdraw for him OGA say he need like 3k. I said me I don’t have, then he said he has to end the trip and get another ride I said no wahala. In the process his phone went off and he begged me to order another ride for him with my riders app which I did. The next driver took him to Blenco at Sangotedo and back to Lekki phase 1 with a total of 5300 and even borrowed oga 10k. At the end of the trip oga transfer money till tomorrow the other driver didn’t get an alert. Oga number Dey switched off.

Baba don't ever do this again. Booking rides for an unknown is a very dangerous thing on the ridesharing business. The other driver would label you an accomplice if this pushes further. On Twitter last week I read as a girl was crying that her phone was stolen and the thief was just using her Bolt app to order rides up and down and heavy sums was being deducted from her accounts, but as you know, nothing concern Bolt in fact they are in business because of people like her.

Your name, phone number was being recorded as the person that booked the ride so there would be little you can say to proof you don't know the other guy.

Its not pride or arrogance or insensitivity I don't lend money to riders, accepting transfers is only when all other options defiled our possible tries.

One girl did it to me last year February from WAEC to Gbagada, she collected 1000 from me and said she's transferring. Got to destination and it was a salon. She told me she had transferred it. Being fresh and eager to make money I left. Till today, my 1000, fare 1600, no one I see. I was busy going to Bank everyday to go make unnecessary noise till I called the girl, a man picked the call and told me to Bleep OFF.

We just have to be careful not to put ourselves in harm's way because we want to appear nice. If e set, those praising you won't be there to stand as witness. The next thing you'd hear.

Nigeria too rugged. People changes everyday.

Meanwhile na the driver borrow am money. All the way from Lekki to yaba. The driver blow from lekki come collect sharwama yaba to lekki.
I later learned from the driver say the guy collect the package told him to send acct details come do fake alert. Out of pity I transfer 5k to the driver.

Two Yahoo boys tried it with me. Got to their location and they had girls with them. The other one said I should use my app to another ride for his friends. I told him "Oga, I no get the riders app

Him: Why na? What do we do?

Me: Download it from your friends phone and use

Which car?
Ensure any gear box u are buying is direct from engine. Go with a trusted mechanic. Many dealers will sell a condemned Nigerian used gear box in place of toks.

It is well, even physical goods self, I don't borrow. If I find myself in shoes of going for a delivery, I'll ask the goods and mode of payment. If I'm ohk with the goods and whoever is going to pay the money in case of cash, the goods remains in my booth till payment is confirmed or d car remains lock in case of cake/ perishable goods.

The only case I'll borrow is wheb rider going to eatery, mostly girl's and we both agreed on alert confirmation after trip.
