Olayetan: Look at it from this angle, if u have 7 trips daily at 10k and u have 4 hours break in total. Reducing the price now will make you do like 14 trips that may worth 15k with less or no rest, that way you drive extra, u burn more airtime to call rider, u make extra 2500 instead of 5k on 7 trips, while Bolt make extra 1k plus the 2k. At the end of the day it's a win win for Bolt and riders, while car owner face the challenge of fixing over worked variable asset and drivers r left with different aches. 6 Likes |

radautoworks: Don't feel like a God. People do this a lot. Even on Fiverr, people make such requests and it gets granted. People make much more daring requests like having their company name registered in the United States. If I had known this is the way you would react, I wouldn't bother. I didn't go straight to sending you a private message so it doesn't seem like I have an ulterior motive. Just to receive a phone from e-commerce website and ship to Nigeria is rude? Please swerve. For the respondent asking why I didn't consider using DHL, some of these businesses don't ship to Nigeria. Ask anybody that buy from eBay and Amazon, they have people that receive their items and ship them to Nigeria. Even the ShopToMyDoor that someone recommended, they have their agents in the States. The mistake I made was getting in touch with the wrong person and quoting her on the wrong thread (my intention was never to post on Uber thread, it happened that this thread is where she comments most so I just quoted her last comment when I searched). Let's die this. I never wanted to respond any further but someone is already feeling like a demi-god 8 Likes |

My thoughts exactly, if you want premium or quality services pay for it. Executive cabs go come your house pick you up, dem go use you do shopping, talk to you anyhow, you go still carry am drop for house on top a/c and comfort.End trip na small money go come out.Even cabu cabu na waka we dey go find them still beg for price on top Jalopy cab. I thought the idea of this ehailing services was to create premium and luxury services to their customers wey fit afford am. Olayetan: 6 Likes |

Gentlelife50: Uber processes to signup too much. In the end results to Bolt having more drivers, and Uber requests having longer pickup times. They better change so they don't be "needing drivers" all the time 2 Likes |

Cheddaz: Executive cab my ass, with 17 years old Corolla like @izzou said. You really need to quit the entitlement mentality, everybody will always want to be at an advantage, it's the game and if you can't get the longer end of the stick, just drop it. |

On this Bolt trying to lower fares further, maybe we should consider porting to EkoCab. I see potential in EkoCab for two key reasons: 1. It is State Government backed; 2. Sterling Bank is financing Why don't we form a "body" or a "committee" to engage EkoCab as it plans to launch. I have inside information that they have an initial 100 tokunbo cars to give out on hire purchase to drivers. The cap is #2,000,000 and the interest is 17% per annum for 2 years. That means a #2,680,000 payment over 2 years - or approximately #26,800 per week. If you take a car that is worth #1,500,000; your total payment over 2 years will be #2,010,000 or #20,100 per week. And the whole remittance thing is flexible. I understand good cars can be registered on the platform too. EkoCab has the potential to knock both Uber and Bolt out of the Lagos market. Maybe it's time we all key in. Lastly, e-hailing should always be seen as a side hustle. There are other legit hustles that pay off well. For example, I know someone who brings in Palm Oil into Lagos from Benin. Another packages and sells yam flour on Jumia. Yet another brings in kilishi from Abuja. They all make good money. Bigleaf1006: I think the issue here is that drivers are not looking at the issue critically... Drivers come here to lament of how hard it is to get trips despite the #500 fare. So is it when it becomes #2000 that you'll now get the trip? Since the bird has learnt to fly without landing, the hunter should learn to shoot without missing Whether we like it or not, competitors will come in and reduction in fares will prevail. Whether we also like it or not, people will still be putting cars into this business Drivers should simply look into other options of breaking even...maybe changing the tools for the job(I've always believed the corolla is now a wrong tool for the job), or exploring other options Because the bitter truth is if Uber increases the fare to #1200 minimum, getting a trip would be difficult You were not getting numerous trips when it was #500, then will riders rush you when its #1200? For those who can't take it like me, jejely quit ![]() 3 Likes |
