I have driven exclusively on uber platform for almost a year and only two months thereabout on bolt.
I concurred the former is better in all ramifications except in aspect of trips availability i.e. no of app users(riders); Bolt is far ahead due to reasons known to almost all of us here!
In conclusion, the higher the number of riders, the shorter the wait time for next request, the higher the number of trips and therefore the higher the income at close of business.

Whatever loss you may suffer driving on bolt in a year can't be up to what you'll lose to uber in the name of extra 5% commission
You still count profit compare to driving on Bolt in a long run.

Let's do a rough tilter

Assume you drive 8hrs daily, 6days weekly with a difference of N1 on Uber.

8*1*60min= N480
6*480= N2,880
A month= N11,520
1yr= N138,240
dy/dx of 5%= N69,120

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Gazzuz, blackbishop, radautoworks and all the gurus in da house. I drive Chevrolet optra 07, the car has started cutting timing belt. And whenever that happens, it bends some of the valves and that's expensive so repair. The thing is frustrating that I'm considering selling the car. As a matter of fact, it's cut trice for the past one month. Just yesterday, I opened the compartment that houses the timing belt, only to discover that the belt has torn already and about to snap. Help!

The engine/ compressor or whatever that houses the belt is unstable.
You might need to re-thread or something.

My thoughts.

Good day guys.
I'm new here and really interested in going into uber/bolt. I've made contacts and already gotten someone willing to give me a car on a hire-purchase bases.
I really have some questions and I kindly plead with you all to help me out.

-Please, I'd like to know if I can be a registered uber/bolt driver without having a car? If no, how long does the registration process take?

-The hire purchase deal is #3m for two years (corolla 2005 toks), to pay 30k weekly with an initial deposit of 60k. The initial deposit will give me the luxury of two weeks default. I reside in Abuja and I plan on investing 12 hours daily. How possible is it to meet up with the weekly obligation?

-Which phone is best used for the business as I read it is a great factor in succeeding in the business?

Thanks in anticipation.

Iphone 6/6s does the job perfectly. Your budget should get you an A series Samsung (new). Whichever phone you settle for, don’t any with less than 2gb of RAM.

This is d Lagos thread though, but try n read up on d Abuja thread, though a lot of drivers in Abuja r not dt social media friendly, dey use telegram groups n watsap.

Have you done this before?

Do you have another source of income?

Why don't you start with rentals first? You will see rental @ 25k, you learn d ropes first...

I will tell you the truth, not discouraging you.

30k is a tall order in Abuja, 25k is till possible, moreover it's even HP., you will still spend on repairs.

Are you aware that the price template
for Lagos and Abuja is quite different.

12 hours per day, this is not office work o, it's all about positioning.

Before you pick d car, locate one or two Uber drivers who r active in d racket n dey will give you d low - down as per revenue.

Let me give you areas where you will find them.

Wuse2.
Bigbite. Esp in d morning around 6-7am. and @ nite say from 8.30-9. Ademola Adetokunbo

White house. Around Jevenik. Ademola adetokunbo.

GCL building. Aminu Kano crescent
Razor sharp. Aminu Kano

Correct me if I'm wrong.

An average uber/Bolt driver gross 80k per week (before commission)
That's 320k per month and 3.84m per year.

Uber commission is 25% = 960k
Bolt commission is 20% = 768k

960k - 768k = 192k.

Bolt's 5% is 192k better than Uber; for an average driver.

Then imagine professional drivers like Ogunvic.
