Things I mentioned as fraud are what drivers use in beating the system.
Do you always get to the PU before clicking rider did not show?
Not picking requests is not fraud.

Main fact is let he who chooses his poison enjoy it.

Those guys do not care about us here. I spoke with someone who drives Uber part time in the UK, the charged waiting time starts after 2 mins of arriving the PU then the app will automatically end the request and charge the rider if the rider doesn't show after 6 mins.
But here in Nigeria, they allow drivers to face trash from riders. Drivers do not get robbed of their cash since its card payments all through. You are verified before registering on the app as a rider. So what is stopping them from applying that here.

This and many more are reasons I'm beginning to accept the fact that we as ehailing drivers need a union... I was reading a post on FB the other day and saw how a driver was arrested at the ajao estate riot that happened last week it was some security guards that helped him secured his car while he was been whisked away by policemen he called pedca or what ever their name is and the exco members came for his release. I don't know if the young man has been release yet.

The guy that was arrested along Igando is another issue, how about the once that was given a drug package to deliver and was arrested in airport sometimes early this year, time will fail me to list those that have been killed or car snatched. A young man was shoot in the eyes at ojuelegba last year by some gang... A rider explained this to me while on a ride his girlfriend married him out of pity after the incident.

The fact is clear we all need an umbrella to stand in when rain and sun come otherwise these app companies will keep making a mess out of us as a people.

Doctors have union
Engineers do
Accountants do
Truck drivers have union
Even market women have union
Why can't ehailing drivers have a union to challenges the battle be falling us as a people

Its time we all begin to think not just how to earn a living but how to make a good living with pride, dignity and in a safe environment and to be regarded as humans and not mere animals.

Together we stand, divine we fall.

Union is not what is needed, its the labour law that is to protect the drivers from the coys.

This is so obvious yet very few drivers realise it...also if you're platinum or diamond rated you have priority over other drivers and that's even explicitly stated.

Priority to customers related issues and complaints not to ride request. As for priority to moove drivers that I'll find out

Since I have KPI to meet up on moove, I have decided to only work Monday to Friday, start early and close early. Set out by 5am and back latest 6pm. That is 12 hrs daily to make the 60 hrs needed for the KPI.
And I only drive on Sundays if I just want like 5k and get back once I get the target.

I believe there are more to add to this I also need to know because i must accept I've loose form has its been over 12months since I drove with uber last.

Again, I go like carry one of my oga"s wife in the person of izzuo ( pocohantis) this festive periods I hear say she dey give freebiesgrin

Whatever works for you.

But my question is if Uber was that good (profit perspective from a driver's standpoint)
why are they having a shortage of drivers? Even with the injection of cars from Moove, the deficit is still glaring.
Or are we saying all the thousands of drivers on Bolt are fraudulent.?

I drive on Bolt, and I'm not fraudulent. I have driven on both apps, and this is my opinion, you will get a better bang for your buck on Bolt. Esp. weekends.

Even CBN and NNPC staff that are powerful, rich and comfortable still have unions to fight and pursue their course. Why do u think u don't need a Union?
I think we need it, but a responsible one. With intelligent, enlightened and exposed people as d leaders not agberos, villagers and hooligans.

Beyond these refunds, does Bolt actually truly block these accounts or put a debit on accounts like Uber does? Cos these riders will continue to scam drivers since there are no consequences.

Yes it is allowed. However, I don't know how long a driver using this will last on d platform.
So if u are thinking of buying this car for ehailing, think again. But if u have it already, u can throw it into d field and test the waters.
Thanks for the advice,i do logistics locally with minibus (korope) but want to divert a little, below are the other options of vehicles am looking at but personally will prefer a wagon..what's your advice on that

Just imagine that at times I feel like are these people kidding me but what can one do na to cancel and move on with the hustle
.
deedee44:

It happened to me last night. A destination trip to my area. She called immediately I accepted the trip to tell me where she was and I moved.
She called again when I was almost there and I told her where I was, then when I finally got there I called to inform her and she said "okay I'm coming out" (it was an event center)
After waiting for over 5 mins I called her again to hurry her up, next thing I heard was.. "I'm sorry I've left because of the crowd (touts) outside, you sef can see them. I tried cancelling from here it did not go, pls help me cancel "
I had to ask again that did she mean she was inside and couldn't come out cuz of the touts or she had actually left, she said I've left the place she wanted to start explanation again I just told her don't worry before she scatter my brain.. she left how, from I'm coming out to I've left when I parked exactly at the entrance/exit. Did she fly or disappear lol.
Riders like that are mostly girls who have gotten free ride from one guy that has been eyeing them at the party

I don disturb bolt die I still visited their lekki office yesterday. I don't know how Bolt works apart from what I have heard and read from my ogas in the hustle. But I ha*te Uber long PU time cos It make me buy more fuel and also a zombie kind of life where you don't even know where you are going until you start the trip. And you can't cancel anyhow .
Pearl1910:

These are my concerns with Uber.
Now tell me if u had another option will u still continue to waste ur fuel and time to endure that rubbish? And will rider also waste his precious time next time to use Uber again when he will have to wait like 15mins when Bolt is 5mins away? Except offcourse because of price difference.

I make bold to say any driver who "thinks" he prefers Uber to bolt as we speak today is either ignorant or just doesn't have access to d Bolt App. If it is for respect, sanity peace of mind etc I agree but as for earnings, I disagree. I still tried it last two weeks. Bolt is d king of the Industry in Nigeria right now.

I feel they blocked the accounts or reach out to them, cos must of the riders will quickly call or transfer the money and will want you to confirm it.
And I ve met 3 riders saying bolt blocked their accounts even when they have paid the trip fare, so they had to use their friends account to request.

One last example, I’ve called a girl before that her friend didn’t pay and I will block her account, she quickly called her friend and I got alert
