Just like the fuel injector nozzles need servicing from time to time, the gas nozzles will also need servicing. And it's not your regular mechanic that will be doing that...
CNG is different from PMS in composition, the engine horsepower reduces when u switch to CNG, therefore, without any deep experiment I know the engine which was designed to work with PMS will definitely be experiencing difficulty and hence some parts may experience increased wear and tear.
So vehicles with CNG systems will need specific specialised servicing from CNG specialist and unfortunately there are a handful of certified mechanics with CNG system knowledge nationwide.

This CNG discussion is still nacent...
It's like people who tell u red oil works perfectly in the engine, instead of engine oil.
Yes it will work, but as far as the experiments in the lab was done with engine oil of a specific density and viscosity then another thing u are using can't be efficient for that engine.
So also, as far as our combustion engines were designed to use PMS, converting them to CNG use when the manufacturers didn't factor that in or make provision for it during the design, may work but definitely not efficiently. And that inefficiency might just be leading your engine to its early grave.

More research and experiment needs to be done before we dive in. I strongly believe if it didn't have any adverse effects, car manufacturers would inculcated it and use it for marketing, and just like we have hybrid cars, they would have told us their cars are hybrid gasoline; PMS and CNG.

The only downsides i see in using CNG would be its installation cost, refilling station locations, halved trunk space, negligibly reduced engine HP and most especially USER/OWNER NEGLIGENCE

USER NEGLIGENCE WILL BE THE MOST IMPORTANT DOWNSIDE even though using maintaining a CNG powered vehicle is easier and cheaper than a petrol powered one.

Some countries have built a public sector transport system running on CNG. In India 🇮🇳 CNG is widely used and India is a very populated country wink

As for CNG in Nigeria today, all things considered CNG is definitely a better alternative. I've said it once here before that if it meant I cut my boot space I will definitely live with it.

The fuelling gains you'd make over a 6 month period compared to riders with loads bookings you which you had to 'cancel' would be a research for someone to do. I'm still watching to see the first person here that would switch. That person will enlighten us on many things we yearn to know.

I understand now, and also agree too. But I believe the stations that make the CNG conversions can recommend certified mechanics for us periodic servicing.

CNG nozzles are built differently than fuel. Fuel is liquid CNG is a gas. There are no particles in a gas to form blockage in a highly pressurised system like a CNG nozzle. Fuel nozzles cause issues because of the type of fuel we use here that might have debris or even water mixed into it. Apart from mechanical failure I don't forsee nozzle blockage as a threat.

Does CNG gas eat rubber seals? We know petrol does this but we all know how long a good nozzle lasts on a 'comfortably' fueled engine. I believe petrol is more corrosive than CNG too but I might be wrong.

@ the part about increased wear and tear, this can also happen. But the reality is that the design of a CNG fuel system has a simpler footprint than regular fuel injected systems, so fewer failure points.

The only downsides I see would be user inflicted ones, like mistakenly pressing wrong buttons, wiring or even a quack/improper instalation Which will soon be an issue if the government is lax in its handling of that matter.

Most apartments on the island also offer drivers incentive when you bring a rider to lodge

The incentive depends on your bargain with the manager. For example ziroc apartment and villa thirty three.

Note: you need to register for free at these apartment as a driver and call the manager to inform him of your coming and bargain your price

Guy, you be vulture? grin You and freebies na five and six, you must be present. How did you earth out apartments offering freebies on the Island? Your sense of smell is something else. I applaud you bro. Hope you don submit aza to Pearl?

If u agree that Nigerian PMS is adulterated, why do u now think Nigerian CNG will not suffer same fate due to poor processing.
Sometimes I see liquid substances coming out of the cylinders of cooking gas sellers. Our cooking gas too are mixed. So why will CNG not also be abused?

Did you listen to the question, the previous administration removed subsidy already from the budget, and what Peter obi said was .. no plans to reintegrate it back immediately.. and mind you .. in real practical, it doesn't mean that no money is left in the coffer, because they don’t remit the payment monthly.. meaning they still have 6 month kick back funds.. that 6 month is the half obi was referring to.. meaning your claims won’t be honoured if your invoice show u have over inflated the figure.. how can u ask for payment of what u didn’t supply, who is using the fuel: those are the questions.

Or have u asked where tinubu is paying subsidy from even with the fact that it’s wasn’t in the current budget they operating on?

Why do you have to make everything about FG?

I am not defending the use of petrol. I am simply asking why car makers are not making cars using CNG, if it is safer and cheaper?

Which one is "continue using petrol"? Na fight?

Abeg no mention me, if na quarrel e go turn to.

Bro I don't know of other brand but a Benz CLS bought in 2013 has the CNG tank at the trunk. Europe cars has been using that system way bef9re you adopt it here

Hi everyone, I have a couple questions about ride-hailing driving:

1. On average, how many miles or kilometers do you drive per day when working for Uber, Bolt, InDrive, or similar services? I'm trying to get a sense of typical daily mileage for ride-hailing drivers.

2. Does anyone know if plug-in hybrid (PHEV) or fully electric vehicles are allowed to be used for ride-hailing services in Nigeria? I'm curious about the regulations around vehicle types there.

Thanks in advance for any insights you can share.

1. On average full day work, driver covers 200km to 250km daily but some do above it tho..

2. They accept any kind of car, hybrid, EVs and Co. So far the brand model starts from 2000 and the AC is working...
