I'm a graduate that completed my NYSC by july and at the end of my service, all the cash i could save was N50,000 and i have tried getting a job but all to no avail after the service and i have tried to keep this money in my account but i don't have an idea of any little business that i can start with this small amount and i'm tired of staying at home. I need an advice please.

start selling Ok bra and pant

Sell food stuff (packaged ones like tomatoes, salt, seasonings, pasta etc).

try and learn a skill either fashion,cake making and all the likes

Though it sounds funny but this is a good business because it's something u can learn as fast as possible, just give a aboki close to ur area 1k, tell him u want to learn the Mai Suya business and he will gladly help u out( he might not collect the money and teach u, trust me northerners are very nice people.)
Also the business will fetch u good money if u can give it better packaging since u are graduate( Believe, people like unique things, like a guy on shirt, Jean,airmax dishing them their hot spicy Suya.) Before u know it, some corporate guys will start driving down to ur spot just to get their Suya.
And finally it's not expensive to set up at all. U can set it up within that budget limit u have.

Hmmm.... D comment I c here is totally discouraging and alarming and a call to national attention on building on the minds of graduates. Could it be that all dos commenting re kids or sth? Infact.... I fink NL should start making age discretion as childishness is now very common in here.
Back to the point now jare, OP there're tens of businesses u can do with 50k...a frnd once told me abt cattle raring with a starting capital of 25k, u can also go into importation, roasting of plantain, liquid soup making...lot more... I can link u up if u don't mind...just inbox me.

Ur case is very common. People have millions in their a/c with no idea on wht to use d money for and can't even help an idea wen someone comes begging

If you are in lagos, get to cotonou, buy ladies bags,okarika, you will be surprised how many bags 50k can get you, and mind you , you don't need a shop to start off, tell your female friends and neighbors, or you can hang the bags in a persons shop, just make sure you don't leave it for them to sale for you, or you can buy men's shoes,loafers, etc okarika and still sample it or tell neighbours, if you are mobile, you can take it to your state secretariat and sale from your car boot, if you are in the east, you can get down to aba, buy good shirt materials, find a tailor,then take it to banks etc, but make sure you know how to use a tape..Good luck

@Op... just make sure that anything you want to venture into is what you like doing... dont make frustration drag you into anything, because if you Dont get results fast, you can give up easily.

3..Business center(Photocopying/Printing)..Laptop, a small A4 printer and/or a second hand photocopier, You would be surprised by how much you could make in a month in a campus or ministry..

All the above involve the sale of a service with little running costs, rather than goods that might tie your money down till a customer comes along.Maybe other posters can advice you adequately on goods that can bring good returns.

Bros, if you are anywhere around lagos or environs, you can travel to cotonou as d other guy said, get good 2nd grade clothes and start up, u may just need an umbrella for dia biz.


or you can do importation, you can start this through anyone who orders, and den subsequently u start doing your own direct ordering, you can get gadgets or anything u knw is high on demand. this is how I started importation and I can tell you, it pays a great deal. I started with fones and later expanded to laptops and now I have included wrist watches etc.

First, discover what you like doing.
Understand your location cos it matters in thinking of any business.
Think like an entrepreneur; be ready to take risks provided it's geared towards proffering solutions to problems.

50k is big and also small money depending on what you already have and where you are.

You can be a sub distributor of recharge cards with some reasonable average monthly turnover of N40000 if you have the market. It also doesn't come with much risks as the printer. You are also sure enough you can manage your time well cos you don't need to work for over 5 hours per day.

If you have a laptop and a small printer already, you will discover you may have succeeded in starting a small business center... think outside the box.

You can learn tailoring, at least I have been in your shoes and some tailors would be glad to help out once they know you can descend so low as a graduate to learn from them. Forget carrying the flag of a graduate that might restrict you of certain privilege and see it from the angle of an apprentice.

As a matter of fact, I got a job few months on learning tailoring and thanks for your thread cos I have forgotten I never took my tailoring certificate.
