I've flown Turkish airways severally for vacay and I must tell you it wasn't a nice experience then I was a non Preggy babygirl!! They will search you tire and Harrass your life as a naija going to yankee n the U.S. people are usually harsh on people coming from turkey!! The flight time is like 10 hrs to Newyork n shitty plane tooo, the flight attendance r busy doing nothing, cooking and prepping tasteless food!! Chaii I hate that plane so much!! Then not to talk about d confused small airport!! My experience tho. Can't imagine entering that plane with a big tummy

They speak ok English, they can communicate effectively & the plane wasn't bad, they just are not friendly people... Attached is a pix of the ORD plane..

Very true..I remember when we flew them, had a 23hour stop over and apparently they have a lounge where you can wait( the sleep area get some kin small small beds there)
No body said a word to us about it even when we asked if they had such..last last Na we find the place by our self after sitting for 6hours at the airport. The most painful part was it was just around the corner..mitchew

The turks are not nice to black people! At all, meanwhile our people go there to buy corporate clothes so it isn't like black people are aliens they don't come into contact with.

Turks are friendly and accommodating but our people don spoil our image finish for Istanbul and Ankara with that white substance, I don forget the name,

I've been reading this thread for a while and I feel like chiming in on Turkish Airlines.

I just returned to Abuja with them last night, this was my first time of flying with them, and only because I had to stopover in Istanbul for some days on my way back from LHR.

They didn't seem racist or unfriendly to me at all, but I don't like their small planes, food or entertainment. I will never fly them again, except I'm going to Istanbul(it's a lovely city btw).

And please Ataturk airport is not small by any means. I also thought those lounges are reserved for biz class and first class passengers. Who knew?

Ok! The ones I met at Istanbul airport weren't nice n pretended or can't hear or speak English!! I Entered town to buy stuff n was negotiating prize with calculator ! My experience tho!

People who couldn't think of helping a pregnant woman with her hand luggage from thhe overhead compartment, who saw a woman with an infant & had to be BEGGED to bring the bassinet I had put in a request for?

The constant request for water was a major irritant to them in my heavily pregnant state, destroyed my baggage & are refusing to compensate me..

Na consumer protection council go end our dispute last last, I live in abuja, e no go hard me to find dem office.

Meabwhile on the outward chicago flight, my delayed baggage ws delivered to my host's apartment with lots of APOLOGIES..

Turkish Airline...when you don't pay the Price...you ll pay the price..... I flew them in August /September to the uk
The Turkish are not exactly friendly, but they like babies sha (was in Istanbul for a few days ) The airport staffs are very unfriendly, communication is A BIG problem cos they barely understand English, racism is at its peak, getting a trolley was a headache, for every airport assistant we asked , we were turned down over and over again and right before our very eyes they were assisting all the whites that came after us,I dislike the airport, the food on the plane is whack, thou the plane is nice at least it has more leg room than BA(lagos to London route), my baby's car seat got missing( thou it was delivered to me some days after in London ) a lot of people dint get their luggage on arrival, then they r very strict with their baggage allowance, overall it's not worth the stress especially for a preggy
