I am surprised at the visa denials on this thread.. mine was blissfully absent-minded.. asked me 2 questions where and why are you coming to the US.. my answers were equally as blunt.. Wisconsin, Vacation with my family.. he wrote on a piece of paper and said pick up your passports at this address in 3 days and said bye. that was 2 years ago. Now I am applying for an "early" Dropbox and need to know if I can apply before my visa expires in August since it is close to when i plan to travel in september. Lady Guinivere .. is this a possibility |

DimmyCho: If you see 400K at this time, rush it o. I just got mine for just over 600K. I doubt you'll see a better rate, and the later you wait, the higher it gets |

amalab30: That should not be an issue. I have a friend who went on vacation and did California to Houston and back on one trip. |

LadyGuinivere: No be only Cotonou, na Lome. Hahahaha Seriously though, it's not such a new life per se. I've been splitting my time between Naija and Yankee for the past 8 or 9 years, got credit cards, paying mortgage, etc. But could not work or stay longer than the 90 days of B1/B2 so I'd usually go twice a year and spend an average of 2 months each when I could. Luckily, I have a flexible job. Madam has been asking me to file since, and everytime I arrive, CBP would ask why I haven't filed before they stamp my passport. Madam finally put her foot down last year that we must file for IV. As boyboy consain, I jejely comply o to avoid stories that touch |

seyewest: Thanks mate. I still got outstanding stuff to do in Naija so I should be back by Christmas. In any case, we go still dey show for NL |

ideababa: USA do not want invitation, they do not even look at it. Visa officer has said this many times. The important thing is that you must prove that you will return home after your visit!. Strong proof to return home and a healthy financial position are required. |

Good day house, i want to say a very big thank you to everyone that responded to my question last month. I went for my visa interview today and im so happy to tell you that it was successful. Thanks for all the words of encouragement and your time in answering all our questions. VO did not even check any of my documents despite the fact that i went prepared with all docs. Lol.......One thing i can deduce from the US embassy is that, you should be yourself and be truthful. Thanks once again 4 Likes |

A relative is taking her daughter for a short visit to the US. They are going on tourism. Which visa should be more appropriate between B1/B2 and B2 given that they are all tourist visas? |

Read this page judiciously for weeks before my interview and made sure wifey read pally to pally too. So here goes the transcript. Vo: good Morning Myself and wifey: good morning madam( at the same time) VO: Pass me your passports We passed ours and our daughters(she's 1+) VO: Where are you going in the US? Me: NEW YORK and FLORIDA. VO: why are you going to these places? Me: NY because I am a big fan of tennis and I am hoping to see the male or female us open final on so so date: my wife is also big on shopping and we have heard NY is great on good deals: we would look around and see nice tourist attractions too. And we are going to Florida cos I want to take my kid to disneyworld. VO: what do you do for a living? Me: I started running a school I inherited from my mom in 2008 and also floated my real estate company in 2012. VO: have you travelled in the past? Me: yes I have been to South Africa, UAE: Ghana and Gambia. My wife has also been to the UK. VO: so all these travels; are they work related or what? Me: vacation basically actually VO: so madam: when did you visit the uk? Wife: 2007, 2009 and 2011. VO: so have you guys ever travelled as a family? Me: nope(wifey and I echoed NO)we haven't: this is our first time and I am hoping we do make it very memorable VO smiles now,I am kinda smiling too but still focused as no mans business. VO: so madam, what do you do for a living? Wifey: I sell baby ready to eat and drink. VO: so sir; how many kids do you have in your school? Me: *** VO: don't you get involved in the day to day running of the school: the small details? Me: nope I don't: I have very good hands and heads of department: they report back to me and I basically deal with the big stuffs. VO: okay, your visa has been approved and you can pick up here in 3 days, Then she passes the almighty white paper! I hope someone learns from this the same way I learned from so many other transcripts on here in the past. I don't think there's a good cop: bad cop there like some people have claimed here: the lady who approved ours had been refusing all day even to the person just before us: applications are treated differently and the confidence and facts being said by the applicant is the most important part of it all. 12 Likes |

I have to say this, I don't know how I came in contact with this thread maybe na because I dey find wetin no loss but I sha found myself here. This was an event that happened in February. If you don't mind me still posting it. VO: Good morning Me: Morning (in a lighter and happy mood) VO: your passport plz Me: gave it through the small space at cubicle 12 VO: So y are you going to the US Me: am going for a wedding VO: whose wedding ? Me: ****** and ****** wedding. VO: okay! What's the relationship BTW you guys Me: ******* is my relative VO: (Typing profusely) Have you ever travelled out before? Me: Yes! Benin Republic VO: (waited a yl and asked) okay! Are you married? Me: No VO: You have kids? Me: No! VO: Not even one? Me: Na! My religion would not permit that. VO: (smiled and said) I understand what you mean At this time I didn't know what to expect either WHITE or BLUE and suddenly he went for the blue in a great smile saying VO: am sorry at this time you do not qualify for the visa. While packing my stuff I just took d courage to ask. Me: Why am I not qualified? VO: You don't have a strong tie with your country Me: what do you mean tie. ( surprisingly this consular replied me) VO: probably get married have a kid. My question is what in the name of Christ was he typing while he paused before asking me d next question, don't forget I didn't want to lie because I could do that but I didn't. House! How far, How far, what went wrong? 7 Likes |

Heyofrizzle:The odds for are much more than the odds against IMO. Your, age, job and pay? Travel experience and family tie ain't there, what advantages were you looking at to cover for these "inadequacies"? Kindly state. |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by LadyGuinivere: 12:36pm On Jul 23, 2016 |
Heyofrizzle:What went wrong? The VO already answered you so there is nothing else any one here can add to that don't you think? Re read your post and see the bolded What was he typing? As much of as verbatim of your trancript as he could. His impressions and probably the reason for the desicon reached |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by laeffizy(f): 12:47pm On Jul 23, 2016 |
Ok. Like I said before I didn't ask here cos I didn't want to derail your thread. My questions have nothing to do with US Visa, I didn't ask on the thread I saw your comment of interest cos you no longer frequent it. I felt I could get your attention faster on your on thread. Please this isn't about a visa, it's medical. Thanks. LadyGuinivere: 1 Like |
