Good Morning to Everyone
I appreciates everybody contributions concerning required documents needed to take along to Embassy so base on all what I have read on here it shows that US CONSULATE do not looks at documents. Below are the printed papers I will be going with

1. My Travel Passport
2. My DS 160 form confirmation page
3. Visa Fee receipt of payment
4. Evidence of interview appointment letter
5. Passport Photograph

I will welcome correction if above listed aren't accurate and to people that misinterpret me as a Female person I will correct that and say I am male person.

Honestly packaging/lying in ANY visit visa application isn't worth it. Currently where I work I met a guy who is looking to get hired, so we got talking and he opened up about how he was denied a usa B2 visa along side his wife and daughter, I requested to see a copy of his DS160 form which he brought yesterday,he was interviewed at abuja (about 5/6pages) did a photocopy while I handed him back his own copy and guess what information there was bogus despite having good home ties (married), went ahead and made travel plans(desperation) and I pointed out his errors at least based on what i have learned on here. And sincerely it changed my impression big time, here are few lessons
1) lying ruins your credibility and it's correction takes time that's if you don't get banned.
2) going to the usa is good but it isn't a do or die affair.
3) i found it more prestigious to visit and return i.e first visit you get 6months, upon your return and second visit you get 2years with a drop box renewal option. I find this more sweeter than over staying and falling out of status, open more doors to visit other countries.
4) it's more better to follow the Rules and say the truth, even if you earn less than 100k in salary don't inflate how much you earn. I know the situation here in 9ja is tough but it's not advisable one lies as it affects not only the applicant but also his/her family members who intend to apply for visa.
5) applicants should ensure they have a genuine and clearly defined purpose on why they intend to visit the usa
Enough said, I'd rather say the truth with a clear conscience and get denied, than ruin my credibility with lies just to get a sticker
I agree with you.. People are already discouraging me by saying, "why don't you organize fake marriage certificate, they won't give a single lady visa o". Another said "try arrange dubai visa on your passport". One said "you want to say the truth about your salary, eeya see why we said you should use an agent? " These are just few of the snide comments i get from friends. My reply has always been the same.. That my going to the U. S is not and can never my biggest dream in life. I want to grow my business, plan my wedding and make it in my country. If i am issued a visa, fine.. If not,i face my life jejely. Not everyone has this mindset, a lot of persons who can do anything for a U. S Visa are those who probably want to go hustle there and cope with the hassles of being an illegal immigrant! Personally, i am going there to visit.. Stupid as it may sound, i love my country because i am a first class citizen here, with a good profession, ok pay and thriving business . Anyways sha, my interview is on the 21st.I really hope i get a visa so i can spend my annual leave vacationing in the U. S for 3 weeks. If God says it's not His will for me, i will relax and look for a nice beach resort to go enjoy my annual leave.. Can't come and die on top visa matter. Like seriously, I don't get the desperation at all.

I begin to wonder why someone will just travel to Kenya,Dubai, Ghana or SouthAfrica to do absolutely nothing there. You just spend your cash on flights just to get travel history?men! Not as if you are a business man. I think the VO's will begin to see those who just travel to have travel history as not being sincere, being desperate. Please Nigerians slow down instead wasting cash on travel history, there are a lot of hungry people in Nigeria you can help with that. God bless

I disagree.

Those are holiday spots. And doing absolutely nothing is what I do on holidays. And believe me if you have been to all those places together, maybe one or two places every year, it is a good travel history.

I started my travelling with Dubai, then Kenya, Ethiopia, Qatar, UK, before I got US. After US, I got married and went with hubby to Dubai and Kenya to build his own travel history.

After US, I have visited many countries in Europe where I did absolutely nothing, but roam around and lounge when I'm tired.

This year, I have a teaching english summer placement in Europe and then plan to visit South America and if you ask me why, still to do absolutely nothing grin

Yes they call it wasting money but travelling is what gives me joy. Eating strange food, seeing strange people, immersing in new cultures, learning a new language, it gives me a high drugs can never give.

My dear, that's the spirit. Go with a clear mind, relax ur nerves and honestly respond to VO's questions based on what you filled in your DS 160.

When I got mine on a new passport, the whole interview wasn't up to 3mins.

Wow.. That's really great.. I have subjected it to God's will. If it's His will, i would surely get it. I had that attitude about my bar finals, and God surprised me with a good grade.

I actually hate when I'm unable to comment freely sha. I saw things, things, just this last week here! Was in Lagos, and had reason to be at Walter Carrington, precisely IBTC PLACE. On my way out, I noticed things have changed lots around the embassy area, just wanted to feel the pulse of the environment, the aura.

Well, the touts weren't really around just yet, the police officers were on with their control on where to go through and not go through, was just SMH, the helping hands/officers at the point of intake - see demonstration of power and carrying on as God ehn - you go fear fear, the false humility garbed Nigerians on the queue and on their way to the queue, etc.

Boy, I said to walk into the car park, wow, the touts are well organised now oh, shuo, na here dem come get their head office now? I met an old friend and his wife whom were prepping to go in for an interview (immigrant visa he said), he needed to go pee as we gisted, even those at the peeing point collecting money sef, you need to hear their talk, seems everybody is working for somebody higher in that domain from their communications and have loads of remissions to do by end of day, so, no joy at all.

Oh boy, I saw things, fake things. Quite painful that is the much we have reduced ourselves to sha, I may not say much because of the VOs reading us here too. Is it the last minute big man dressing that counts not? You are wearing white lace agbada on your very dirty brownish and showing inner wear? That gives you off as faker than fake IMO. Aso oke agbada and beads etc were being magically brought out and worn at corners mehn. Saw a group of very hungry looking visa REFUSED people being scolded by their leader or packager as the case may be. Omo, our people can lie for Africa, do we really think these VOs don't see this things we the untrained "VOs" can see easily?

Then a couple too, the man was sweating profusely in his assumed suit but carpenter made coat, his neck buttons weren't properly done, his tie position got on my nerves, I had to beckon on him and asked if he was here for an interview and he answered in the affirmative, asked if the tie was necessary he said yes, well, I just had to help him do his buttons right and position his tie properly but the old fashioned jacket, the over sized pants and rioting dressing was seriously turning me off sha. Also helped someone escape being swindled by those touts as they were trying to tell him what more he needs do before going in, I just checked and saw his needed documents where intact and told him to ignore and just go in, and he did.

Then the big one, you mean these guys really bring "wedding rings" to sell at that car park? Dayum!!! That reminds of a young chap we travelled together from DXB to JFK earlier on in the year, a nairalander on this thread he said he was - he might be reading this now or soon too, I could see and tell him all his fakes, he agreed and asked to be put through, he was so fake I had to run far from him at the POE so as not to get into trouble for associating with him if found out, I no just fit shout.

Dudes, let's be calm and relaxed please, I just don't like where we have found ourselves, we can get better, really. Nigerian youths ARISE! See the effect of our Eastern compatriots voice and lately their Arewa counterparts too on the political class, WE CAN....

[quote author=queenfav post=57379558]I agree with you...
How are you doing? On this guy form he mentioned book expo america, as his usa contact info, no phone number, no email.
Location he plans to visit...time square new York. In short, he isn't informed at all.
I agree times are hard here while many are looking for greener pastures, but the truth is there is no short cut about it. Instead of me lying, inflate how much I earn, i'd rather use that time to think of how to utilize the little I have to acquire assets and look for a side(part time) business that would boost my earnings.
Saying the truth would take you far, VO's are smart enough to discover dishonesty at least I know because I follow a retired vo on quora. The truth is all they need

That's my sister there, just the exact way I like my travels. Meanwhile, my wife has had previous Canadian and US visa refusals, those listed countries put together as subsequent travel history added in quantum measure to her finally landing both visas later on. They are cool, they just can count particularly if done reasonably....

Nef Nef Nef..... You're too much.. Thank you for saying my mind.. I told a friend I wanna visit Kenya and he said shebi you get U.S Visa why bother with these small countries well from my research I know if I visit Kenya I will sure visit Tanzania, uganda and Rwanda that's 4 countries within a week or 2... also anytime I'm gonna visit U.S I will try to get a schgengen visa so I can make a stop over in Milan for a week through Emirates and still fly directly to JFK from Milan through emirates... I'm working on my Japanese visa so I can spend 4 days in Japan although I will fly from New york... and if that does not work I might visit the caribbean directly from U.S maybe fly Qatar to U.S and branch Doha for 2 days on my way back to Lagos.
All I wanna do during my leave is visit new places.. and experience new culture... just to forget about Naija for 2-3 weeks in a year no be sin..and it's not waste of money.

I was told to dress well by my boss too, but I was like, Oga, these VOs should see me like my normal day. I still hung my I.D sha to add little shakara

Chai.. That Japan make sense ooo! Asia is on my 2018 list. And visiting multiple countries on one trip is a cost effective way to feed this our desire to roam around d world and feel like a global citizen.

Reminds me of my dad, every year, he would take off to an unknown destination and return with strange souvenirs from Egypt, russia, Japan, West Germany, Yugoslavia.. Black man o! And will come back with stories that would make our eyes wide open. God rest his soul

I LOVE your mindset and I share the same sentiment
Its not a do or die affair
Make the best of your circumstances while working towards what you want..doing it the right way
I also think these Visa officers aren't God, they issue visas based on their discretion.
My friend had the intention to move to the US on a visiting visa and she got the visa.
How could the VO have known her intentions?
She even lied that she was married
I tried to discourage her but she wouldn't listen, now she's an overstayer with her 2 year old son

Please the gurus in the house help me, i want to visit USA in August during my work leave for 2 weeks, i have my husband's cousin there who is a green card holder for now because she married an American, she is in 9ja now with her kids for her father's burial but will be going back to US next week and she is saying that if i come to US in August i will stay in her house for the 2 weeks and i also have an American who is my client, and i have been handling all his events in Nigeria for some years now who is also offering to accommodate me anytime i come to the USA. My question now is who should i fill his /her address and contact on the DS 160 form that i will stay with as i would prefer to stay with my sister inlaw but as a green card holder i don' t even know how she got to America all i know is that she is married to an American or stay with my American friend or just book a hotel accommodation as i can also afford that. Your contribution will be appreciated.

Please the gurus in the house help me, i want to visit USA in August during my work leave for 2 weeks, i have my husband's cousin there who is a green card holder for now because she married an American, shestay with my American friend or just book a hotel accommodation as i can also afford that. Your contribution will be appreciated.

Well if your American client can send you an IV that will be better IMO.

Your husband's cousin need to tell you how she entered US and what she does currently as the VO might ask.

But since you preferred her side other than your client's own then ask her for details.

Just make sure you don't represent a lie on your form.

You better go the hotel way.

Oga Suxes; you should know better than this na.... IV kwa? Her best option of the three for now as per accommodation is to book an hotel.... Check your sister in law out sha @OP Showerses, I mean how she got in there and became a permanent resident. As for your American client, hope you guys have seen or been seeing face to face, physically? If not, just ignore that move please.... Go reason your other ties, accommodation is only but one of your worries on this route!

Mall kwa? Use your hotel oh.... Well, I think it ideal that the best areas to book an hotel as a tourist is close to or right around where the attractions are, at least somewhere central and easy to shoot from, they are not always so so expensive as we conclude, you can get some fairly priced ones when you check and search deeper. Sandton for Johannesburg, Manhattan for New York, Central London for the UK, Downtown Dubai for Dubai, etc. Just my opinion though!
