Good evening house. Please I need sincere opinions. My husband and I just completed our ds 160 form but yet to submit. Now we didn't bother using the contact of our relative in us, we used hotel reservation but my brother inlaw is advising that we use an agent and also state that we r visiting a relative instead of using a hotel as that will improve our chances.

I really want us to get it right. What do you suggest? Note that I have a female cousin who is a registered nurse while my husband has a friend and a distant aunt he can use.

Which should we use??

Secondly, after filling the hotel details, we were asked if we have relatives and we clicked no. Is this a wrong answer? Considering I have a cousin and my husband an aunt. Should we Click yes and Fill their individual details or fill the details of just one of them

We intend to travel with the kids, for vacation. We haven't traveled together as a family before. I have been to Dubai with my first child while pregnant with the second and my husband have travel history too. Does it matter that we haven't traveled as a family before?

The vacation will be sponsored by my husband's company . I understand we need to go with the Co account details? And letter from board of directors?

Why do you want to lie? Filling in the right thing and go defend it infront of the VO with confidence. If it is hotel reservations or your relatives stick to one option. Please avoid an agent.

We do not intend to stay with a relative. But after filling the hotel reservations, we were further asked if we have relatives in USA.

The question was lyk : do u have any immediate relative in the USA which we clicked no as neither our parents or siblings are in the USA. Then another question : do you have other relative in the USA. That's d confusion. We were advised to click no and avoid too much story but based on Wat I read on this thread about saying the truth, I think we should click yes. Hence the question.

I told hubby that we don't need an agent. I have read severally that they cause mire harm than good

Thank you so much for taking you time to reply. I do not want to lie, I will not lie. That's why I'm here asking, to ensure that I do not lie by omission.
Further awaiting your reply, thank you.

Banned Ke? Please can you tell me why you reasoned the Ban situation?
Is it likely i could have been banned?
I must have been refused based on my ties or other things and not because of stating I have an uncle in the US and the Ghana and Togo travel history (I didn't have fake stamp or so on passport) - which was the lies in the form... and there is no way the VO would have known.

I decided to come clean now because im not comfortable with the lies. So I believe they will be knowing about the lies just during the new interview.

KaptainAfrika:
1. Fill the appropriate section, when filling your form (I don't which one it is)

2. Be honest when answering the questions.

3. If the VO mentions something like (I heard this during my 1st interview), for example; last time you said X, but now you are saying Y. COME CLEAN , DO NOT USE "THE AGENT DID IT" AS AN EXCUSE , BE HONEST ENOUGH TO ACCEPT THAT THOUGH YOU KNEW IT WAS A LIE , YOU STILL WENT ALONG WITH IT , AND THAT YOU HAVE LEARNT YOUR LESSON AND WISH TO THROW YOURSELF AT THE MERCY OF THE VO.
It might or might not work.

4. If you have been banned, the VO will let you know. I DONT KNOW THE PROCESS OF APPLYING FOR A WAIVER.

I guess you're referring to the signature page where you are to enter your passport number as signature. If the system says incorrect passport number, then there is no doubt that the number is incorrect.

Firstly, you said DS160 form for yourself and son. I hope these are two separate forms, if not you have to complete two separate forms.

Secondly, check if your passport number includes zero (0) and be sure you didn't state letter "O" instead.

Thirdly, check for transpositional error like stating "918" as "981".

Yeah, the "O" (oh) for zero (0) after the "A" most likely.

Click YES.... But during the interview make it known that you will not be staying with them because you made reservations and to enjoy your privacy. All the best.
