Yes, going to the US just for wedding shopping is a red flag when you can do the same shopping here. I will suggest you tell the VO you will be going for vacation( make sure you ve places you will like to enjoy your vacation in one of the known US states for such and an hotel you will like to stay) then you will use the opportunity to shop for your wedding coming up so so date. I can candidly tell you that the US visa is 100% based on US law. For most non-immigrant visas, this includes 2 things: (1) that the purpose of travel for which you are applying is allowable under the classification of visa for which you are applying and (2) that you have strong enough ties that you will return to your home outside the US at the conclusion of your visit.

I can candidly tell you that the odds was not on your side today, tomorrow might be your lucky day. One thing about the us visa is that it is 95% luck and 5% ties to me...

Your grandma has a higher chance of getting a US Visa than you; you are 25 year old farmer that can abscond, she is a 77 year old woman that has lived her life. So save your money, and let granny go for her interview. No documents are checked except the passport, confirmation letter and payment receipt.

Thanks kaptainafrica,its not me,but a friend.his grandma uses a wheelchair,she can't work,thats the main reason,why he wanna accompany her,for the interview,he would be the one to push her there,as he do stay with her,when he's off work....

I have read a number of similar complaints lately, I hope their is no system glitch. If the system confirmed that the upload was successful, then there is no reason why it shouldn't appear on the confirmation page, expect there is a system glitch.

Log in again to reprint the confirmation page, if the pix does not appear then I suggest you create a new application from the current one.

All she need so is request for special assistance. So if the guy has no ties, he can't be issued a visa just to push wheel chair. #realitybites

Ask those that experience such, they probably used a scanned copy. Not everybody is good at manipulating the size and format of a photo to suit the required standard. This was my reason for giving the simplest and most direct method to getting the upload correct.

Tickets - major airlines inclusive - should be much more fairly and reasonably priced this October/November. So, worry less.

The airline you fly do not matter (for as long as the airline is allowed to fly into US) and if you're taken up on that at the PoE, simply tell them that is most economical ticket available. Chikena.

You are still getting it twisted. The reason for denial should definitely be beyond all these, it's about your ties generally; your pay, misrepresentations, the facility, doctor, travel experience, number of persons applying, how long the stay is, accommodation, etc comes to play here oh. I understand how this could be for you though, just follow the link someone provided you if you haven't been there all these while anyways, so much can be gleaned from there. Regards

Unfortunately the system allows you to proceed to sign and submit. The confirmation will come with the picture missing but with instruction to bring the picture to the interview. This is misleading though, the system should be amended to follow your line of thought.

Whaooo, this is a negative development. US Embassy should fix this, it is not an efficient use of IT platform. From IT perspective, it is difficult for me to rationalise this configuration.

I think they borrowed our culture, they change procedure without changing the system configuration. Changing the configuration would have changed everything. However, how much info do we have as regards their IT. Some countries may still attend interview without uploading picture.

The deed has been done already. The DS160 has been signed, submitted and confirmation slip ready without the picture. A new form will be required at this stage. It will save a lot if the system does not allow submission without the required picture.

NB: Applicant should use digital copy for the picture upload and review the form to ensure the picture is sitting in position.

From what I read, you a good tie in America that's your brother who can convince you to stay or help you stay. The VO sense you might not come back.
