UPDATES: 5:00 PM deadline passes without trace of INEC and PDP officials at collation center in Ekiti. Also, the Ekiti State resident electoral commissioner has been summoned to Abuja, while INEC resident commissioner from Anambra State has been drafted to announce the results. Mass protests and rally continues in Ado-Ekiti.Tension builds as Southwest PDP officials met with Yar'adua to ask him for help with "Federal might". Sources at the presidency told Saharareporters that a "State of emergency" is being considered as a solution to the situation.

The situation in Ekiti state has degenerated since yesterday's election re-run that saw Action Congress (AC) candidate leading with 11,551 votes. The numbers of vote tally included the votes already added to his tally after the ruling of the Court of Appeal on the election petitions. Our reporters said INEC officials have deserted the collation center in Ado -Ekiti and the Inspector General of Police, Mike Okiro has arrived in Ado-Ekiti by helicopter to oversee "security"

Ekiti youths and opposition party operatives have taken over the area surrounding the collation center with "Rig and Roast" chants as the 5:00 PM deadline for final collation and announcement of election results approaches.

AC officials told Saharepoorters that PDP party chiefs are planning to add 15,000 votes from Ido-Osi local government as way of declaring victory in the elections, but they are too scared to declare the results because of the massive resistance by people across the state.

A meeting between the AC, PDP, INEC and the IG of police is due in less than 30 minutes
