My Life threatening experience at the State Specialist Hospital Akure.

It was on sunday 11th October 2015 at around 11:06 pm, was laying on my bed then suddenly my heart started pounding.. Its an attack again cos I was diagnosed of heart attact few years back.

11:10pm: Called my dad and suggested that we should drive straight to my personal cardiologist and we did just that.

11:45PM: We arrived at the cardiologist's private hospital and only for him to tell us that he was tired that he can only attend to us in the morning. My dad got scared because I was gasping for breath already and this was the same doctor that collected N129,000 for treatment few weeks back. After begging and pleading for him to see me, the doctor refused and he switched off his phone.

12:15AM: We headed straight the State Specialist Hospital and when we got there the whole place was filled up, we met some nurses who attended to us and we were asked to get a card upon which a doctor will attend to us.

12:38AM: After getting the needed card, I was placed on oxygen but this never stopped the gasping as am in need of a medical doctor to attend to me. After about 45mins, we were given the shocker of our lives when we were told that there was no single doctor on ground that in the whole hospital.
Emergencies where been rushed in and nobody to attend to them. There was this particular pregnant woman that broke her water pot at the entrance of the A&E department, about to deliver but was told no bed and no doctor on ground.

01:26AM: It was on my bed that I realized that both the nurses and the doctors do not care about their patients or the sick people, what they just care about is what they get at the end of the month..No passion for their Profession
Imagine a state whereby their state governor is a medical doctor and such is happening in his field of profession.
God entered the mind of the Cardiologist, he called my dad back apologizing that he was very tired cos he had a very hectic day at work the previous day. He told us to come back and we left the state hospital around 4:39AM.

Am still on my admission bed...tho recuperating

You cannot blame the governor of the state for this. What of the CMD who is managing the hospital, what of Nigeria government which has failed in its supervision of resources spent. Everyone is involved, why not blame the doctor to. Governor has provided the support to the health care the personnel should be well organised. Futhermore, what if the doctor has been on call since yesterday yet no break. Such will happen.
