One of the most shameless organization in the Nigerian state is the senate. The senate is filled with people who are so self-centred and hard heartened; people who do not evolve with time.

Sadly, that is the kind of people we have more in the society.

I am not taking her case in isolation. She is a ranking member of the HOR whose husband is a serving senator so I didn't expect otherwise. But it seems that the senators never had time to go through the CV of the nominees. The nominees are brighter and sharper and the senators didn't do a homework. Fashola's 'I don't sign cheques' shows that he doesn't understand responsibility and should have led him to be dropped. The Oyo nominee today exhibited crass ignorance with governance. The Senators could have done better.

exactly my point...he was questioned to the point that his weakness and strength were shown. They should have up the tempo for others..but they disappointed!

I personally dont believe in all this screening. It only attempts to give some relevance to the whole process of governance. There is no empirical evidence that those that were asked questions and answered excellently well would perform well as ministers and vice versa. In as much as it would have been important for the questions to have been asked, i dont think asking or not asking questions is critical to her performance as a minister which is all that matters.

If you still feel bitter about it, recall the senator of the district you voted for and ask him why he didnt interupt the process of her taking a bow by staging a protest.

The screening of the ministerial nominees by the Senate continued today and it was the turn of a nominee, Khadija Bukar Abba Ibrahim, to be grilled. Honestly, I was expecting the senators to interview and ask questions in relation to the office she held while serving Yobe people and how she can bring that to the national level for positive change we aspire, without minding she's the wife of a serving senator and three-time former Governor of Yobe state.

Instead, what I saw today has revealed that the senators are not ready for the genuine change. The senate president, Dr. Bukola Saraki, made the matter worse by calling her husband to ask her wife a question! The husband ought to have sideline himself and allow other people ask meaningful and developmental questions towards are appointment. "Would you be surprised if the house ask you to take a bow"... asked, the husband?

Seriously, was that a screening question by a serious senator? Does these people think Nigerians are fools? Do the senators take Nigeria affair as a paddy-paddy thing? I feel pained and disheartened by what the senators just did.

I expect seriousness on the part of service to our dear nation and this should reflect on every strata of our government and amongst Nigerians. The media houses should condemn what just happened and keep the senators and public officials on their toes. Please!

Is it because she is a woman or what? But her male counterparts currently serving in the house of representatives were also asked to take their bows, nonsense.

I just hate what that husband and wife are doing to the people of Yobe state. Husband was governor, when he got tired, he switched over to being a senator and got madam to be in the house of reps. As if that isn't enough, of all the million people in Yobe, she again is picked as a nominee and nobody is questioning this greed. This is really the change gullible ones voted for. Too much greed! angry angry

Our politicians are self-centred and run a paddy paddy government where you scratch my back I scratch yours is the order of the day.

That why I keep soliciting that we should ask question on how they run our economy and the government. How sustainable is the present generation meeting its needs without affecting the future generation from meeting their own needs? Our politicians have borrowed so much that I wonder how the future generations will repay and finance their own government.

Later, youths will come on social media or start killing to defend all this bastards that don't think or hope well for the masses, only their personal interest. I am talking to all politicians both apc, pdp, abga etc. They are all the same.

Wife. 3times house of rep. Commissioner.
Husband. 3 time former governor. Of one state. Current senator.
Is this a family affair. With over 160 million people. One man will just stay on seat for years. And if u look at yobe. It's an eye sour. Corruption is d game. Bukar is d player

I think Nigeria situation deserves a more serious attitudinal approach than what we are witnessing at the moment. This idea of people taking a bow and go need to stop. Questions need to be asked and candidates need to justify their nomination into political office.

The two houses need to get more serious if we are expecting to see any meaningful change in this dispensation.
