when using alternate ids, can you add your original id or whichever moniker is your favorite, to your comments, so others can know it's you.

if folks respond to your moniker without even knowing who it is, ileke and your other attack dogs will start getting worried and cranky because they"ll feel you're chatting with other people. Or you'll start developing wings because you feel someone is responding to your post.

so please add aok or something to your posts when you are not using that id, just for clarity.

thank you.

Not everybody automatically knows when you're posting under various user ids.

I do learn with Yoruba Bible and I'm picking up a few things from this thread. grin
Yoruba is not that difficult to learn now. Afterall, you can just come in to say "E ku Yoruba hour o."
Reminds me of one romani that met us in a bus and say to everybody "e ku moto o". grin grin grin

Nope. That is Ogun State Anthem for you. It was normally played first thing on Ogun AM/MW radio in those days. When our father wanted to wake us up, he would raise the volume of his radio. So whether one likes it or not, everybody must wake up. So, we tend to hate that song because it usually signalled the end of a sweet and sound sleep. It's now that I understand the significance of that Anthem.

How can we make Yoruba Hour better?

1. Have topics ready
We need to know which topics are going to be discussed. By doing that, we set a goal and determine it's conclusion by 10pm. Topics can range from the DAWN project to Yoruba interest to ongoing developments in Yorubaland.

2. Advertise Yoruba hour
If we're really serious about Yoruba Hour, we need to invite as many Yoruba and friends of Yorubas as possible.

3. Be our brother's keeper
This is seriously lacking in Yorubaland. Why? How? And what can we do to change it?

4. Notify other users when the Hour approaches
We think they'll remember, but.......

5. Prioritize your time on NL
Yoruba Hour vs other NL threads

6. Be ready to translate for English-speaking Yorubas
i.e shym3x and Laudate

7. Entertainment Segment
Have a session like "Tani mo o" an entertaining segment where we can improve our knowledge of Yoruba riddles, proverbs, stories, and jokes

So funny. grin I remember a time I wanted to do that with my kids using my phone. My first daughter just came the second night, took my phone and hid it somewhere. I was so troubled that day. It was when she woke up around 6am that she eventually returned my phone. That was the last time I tried it with them. grin grin grin

Kehinde Wiley: New York-Based Artist Paints People of Color in Styles Mimicking Classic Western Art

When New York artist Kehinde Wiley, 38, looked at famous paintings of the past, he noticed something very unsettling. It was all so…very…VERY…white.

“If you look at the paintings that I love in art history, these are the paintings where great, powerful men are being celebrated on the big walls of museums throughout the world,” Wiley told CBS News. “What feels really strange is not to be able to see a reflection of myself in that world.”

So Wiley decided to take matters into his own hands. His artwork features men of color who are wearing street dress. . . but painted in classical styles, often resembling the great paintings we all know from history. It all started when he found a mug shot on the street. Wiley was chilled by the revelation that this is how black men are too often represented in images- as criminals. “It crystallized something that I’d been thinking about for a very long time, which is that black men have been given very little in this world, and that I as an artist have the power and the potential and the will to do something about it,” he told CBS.
