Somebody should please, tell me this is not true. ARGH!!!

Graduates being treated this way

Now I can see why some people call for the scrapping of this scheme. Issues like this should be exposed to the people in govt. If they claim not to be aware of it before now, we are showing them now and it is not just for them to see it, but for them to act on it!

There was truly a country!

Whatever happened to the hostels. Yikpata used to have one of the best hostels of all camps in nigeria. That obviously is the hall that was completed atfer my camping days there.

That camp it a real camp. Located in a real jungle away from civilisation.

It had hostels, classrooms, hall, admin building, staff quarters, man'o war village and a field. It is a well planned camp but poorly managed.

The only problem of the camp was water. Despite its close proximity to river niger. We bathed with pure water.

We called people staying in classrooms ecomog

Saraki stopped being governor in 2011. In his time Kwara was one of the best NYSC postings. What is Governor Ahmed doing in his 5 years of governance beyond enriching himself and buying houses and bukateria joints in America?

Ask Kwara Governor Ahmed why he cannot maintain. The man cannot even maintain ordinary NYSC hostels, all he can maintain is feeding that his fat wife with Kwara money and babymamas all over the place.

I dont think it is the responsibilities of state government to build or renovate camps.

LOL. "Baby mamas". I never really liked the guy. I was one of the corps members that worked for INEC during his election. I tried my best to convince some of those people not to vote for him but saraki and his family has hypnotised those people. They dont have a mind of their own. Even a king doesnt have his own mind.

noblemails:
my 21 days stay in this yikpata camp as a batch A corper 2010/2011 was like Hell in a Cell. A corps member from benin city died of snake bite... reptiles everywhere... for those in this camp presently, always move at night on ur jungle boot to avoid snake bites...

That was my set. The experience then wasn't pleasant. Extremely hot weather and scarcity of water. We had to depend on water fetched by villagers from streams. Poor sanitary facilities; you have to do 'shot put'. In fact my first week was like hell but I later readjusted to cope with the conditions.

The death of that corps member was a disaster. He was attacked by the snake same day he arrived camp. I believe they've been fumigating the environment regularly since that incidence. Like you said, prospective corps members should ensure they go around with their jungle boots on at nights and when they want to enter the bush for 'shot put'. Yikpata snakes are deadly.

I came in batch b after you guys. We were told of the story. Although they attempted to paint the story as if the guy was being followed from village. Claiming that he stayed about 5days in the hospital before eventually dying. We also killed a snake too in out set despite the fumigation.
