E-X-P-O-S-E-D! Rivers Tribunal: Justice Anwukah, Governor Rochas Okorocha’s In-law Continues her Devil Jobs. Okorocha is the APC governor of Imo state.

1] Justice Mrs Anwukah is an Election Tribunal Judge for Rivers state.

2] She is a Judge in the Imo Customary Court of Appeal, and Mother In-law to Rochas’s Second Daughter, Uju.

3] Justice Anwukah was Governor Okorocha’s nominee for Election tribunals.

4] Justice Anwukah was a member of Lagos state Election tribunal and did a good Job for APC and was moved to Rivers to continue her good job of Nullifying elections.

5] Her Husband, Prof Anwukah have been rewarded with a Ministerial appointment by Buhari.

6] Yesterday, she nullified the election of 20 PDP members of the Rivers state House Of Assembly. This type of election tribunal ruling is unprecedented in Nigerian History.

Aisha Buhari younger sister’s Husband, Justice Suleiman Ambursa, from Kaduna State was the Tribunal judge assigned to annulled the election of Governor Wike, even when an Appeal court have ruled on a similar case in Lagos.

THIS IS THE CHANGE. CORRUPTION CANNOT FIGHT CORRUPTION

Why was the tribunal moved from Rivers State to Abuja where they can be ‘remote controlled’ by the centre power and watched closely.

Why was Justice Pindigi who was the first tribunal judge hurriedly kicked out, which set the pace for the onslaught that removed Wike.

As soon as Pindigi was shown the way out, a judge close to President Muhammadu Buhari was shopped for, to be the Chairman of the Rivers State Election Tribunal, and the lot fell on Aisha Buhari younger sister’s Husband, Justice Suleiman Ambursa, from Kaduna State.

Justice Ambursa and President Buhari married from the same family. He was the Tribunal judge assigned to annulled the election of Governor Wike, even when an Appeal court have ruled on a similar case in Lagos.

The Court of Appeal sitting in Lagos upheld the election of Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode stating that the non-use of the card readers or the dysfunctional nature of the card readers cannot invalidate the Lagos State Governorship Election.

But in Rivers State, a different conclusion was reached.

Buhari and his APC should however beware!

A UK based public commentator, Kennedy Emetulu wrote:

Whoever is advising the APC on Rivers State is a dumbo and dumber are all those listening to this advice and acting on it. Fine, you want to take Rivers State but do you have to be this blatantly criminal about it? How can any legitimate Tribunal upturn 20 House of Assembly seats at once? How did it so happen that 20 seats went to the wrong people and the people of Rivers State, the electors, sat happily without protest? We are not talking one, two or three O! Twenty! C’mon! How can they do that a day after nullifying the governorship election? Do they think Nigerians are too dumb not to see where they’re going? Okay, you want to install an APC governor in the state and ensure that an APC House of Assembly is in place to support him, but do you have to act this desperate? I know Nigerian politics can be crude, but this takes the biscuit! Whatever the APC is looking for in Rivers State, they will get it, but they won’t enjoy it! When the horned chickens come home to roost, they shouldn’t think they won’t be part of those eating their bloody eggs!

From all I’ve said so far, it is increasingly looking that our democratic bubble is going to burst at the seams at the Rivers State end; but when it happens, no one should blame anyone but the APC. They don’t know how to manage success and they are too greedy to understand how to play a political game in a socially volatile polity. They have no idea how to get Nigeria moving. From the federal to state levels, all they’re invested in is vengeance and power-mongering. President Muhammadu Buhari is leading this country down a very dark path, but let no one think they have the antidote in Abuja. He has been itching to let loose his dogs of war on Rivers State. From the moment he was declared elected, he has focused on Rivers State and now we know how he wants to go about this. No one is deceived!

Ordinarily, I wouldn’t bother with the antics of politicians, but this is different. This could take the whole nation down and it is quite unnecessary! If the APC wants to take Rivers State, it’s well positioned to do so in another election cycle, but to go about it so desperately and drag the whole national edifice down in that mission must be the unkindest cut!

Oh, I know there are many blinded partisans who’d be singing and dancing at the prospect of taking over Rivers State, but they need to understand that this is a fool’s gold! There is time for partisanship; but, at all times, you must be a patriot! This is not politics; this is sacrificing Nigeria for the greed of a few. Call these bastards to order now!

Nigeria will survive you all!

Wike is a thug.

A thug that bullied and killed his way, to the Governors office, and is hell bent on holding to an Office that was never rightfully his.

What us the conflict of interest here?why did Wike not make this objection about the Judge since? Who did he bribe that had promised him everything will come his way? Or he thought sneaking into the CJN office in the middle of the night will give him the verdict? Apparently this Lawyer turned thug turned politician, still don't know how the law works.

To those drumming the drums of wars, that Rivers will burn if Wike does not come back. I ask them, have you actually been in a town or State that has actually burned?ask those that had their town burned by Boko haram.

Have you guys seen the power of the Federal might?ask those from ODI, Bayelsa who had their town over run by the Federal might.

The OP should stop instigating people, because at the end of the day, it is the innocent ones that will die.

To the OP I ask you, is Wike the thug worth your biological brother's life? If yes. Make sure you push your own blood brother to the front line, when that time comes, after a credible election has been held and won and you guys want to cause trouble.

Ask Kanu, the Jobless Biafra Noise maker. The East did not burn, because of a him. He is learning, it is very lonely when you are in trouble. Reminds me of the James Hadley Chase Novel, as a youngster I read called " it is lonely when you are dead"

It is lonely when you get into trouble.

Despite Justice Ambrosa-led Tribunal judgement on Rivers State Governorship Election, behold the position of the Court of Appeal on Card reader which the hatchet tribunal based its judgment;

Agbaje v Ambode : Court of Appeal says Non-use of card reader or malfunctioning of card readers cannot invalidate an election

*Appeal Court explains that the Electoral Act predates the card reader

The Court of Appeal sitting in Lagos upheld the election of Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode stating that the non-use of the card readers or the dysfunctional nature of the card readers cannot invalidate the Lagos State Governorship Election.

The court held that the Electoral Act (2010) as amended does not recognise the malfunctioning of a card reader as one of the factors that can lead to the nullification of an election.

This, the appellate court held, is because the Electoral Act predates the introduction of the card reader.

The Court of Appeal stated this in a verdict on a cross-appeal filed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) challenging parts of the Governorship Election Tribunal’s verdict in the case of Jimi Agbaje versus Governor Akinwunmi Ambode and others.

APC filed the cross-appeal on two grounds. In the first ground, it said the tribunal erred in law when, having held that Paragraph 14 of Agbaje’s petition challenged Ambode’s nomination, went ahead to hold that it was a valid ground.

The party said any complaint about a pre-election issue falls within the jurisdiction of the Federal or Lagos State High Court, therefore, the tribunal ought to have declined jurisdiction.

The party also asked that Agbaje’s petition be struck out because its paragraph 13b which complained about faulty card readers did not qualify as a ground to challenge the April 11 election.

The Court of Appeal, in a judgment by Justice Obande Festus Ogbuinya, resolved the first issue in Agbaje and PDP’s favour, and the second issue in APC’s favour.

A copy of the judgment, delivered on August 26, was obtained by our correspondent yesterday. Other justices on the panel were A. J. Abdulkadir, Mohammed Danjuma, Emmenuel Agim and Saidu Hussaini.

Agbaje, the PDP, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Ambode and the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) were the cross-respondents.

The appellate court held that both the High Courts and the tribunal have concurrent jurisdiction over the issue of a candidate’s qualification/disqualification.

Justice Ogbuinyi held: “The cross-appellant (APC) implored this court to declare the paragraph 14 a pre-election matter cognisable only in the regular courts because it alluded to 21 days notice decreed in Section 85 (1) of the Electoral Act. The cross-appellant made heavy weather of this point.

“The paragraph 14 of the petition qualifies as a valid ground for querying the qualification of the fourth cross-respondent (Ambode) to contest the election.

“The trial tribunal is the forum competens for the first and second cross-respondents (Agbaje and PDP) to ventilate their grouse on his (Ambode’s) qualification/disqualification. Put simply, the trial tribunal was clothed with jurisdiction over paragraph 14 of the petition.

“In the end, I have no option than to resolve issue one against the cross-appellant and in favour of the first and second cross-respondents.”

Resolving the second issue in APC’s favour, the appellate court held: “The paragraph (13b) displays a vitriolic attack on the irregularities germinating from the improper or non-use of the smart card readers in the polling units.

“As it is, it has no life of its own as a ground. It endeavours to introduce the defects in the use of smart card readers. The evolution of the concept of smart card reader is a familiar one. It came to being during the last general election. On this score, it is a nascent procedure injected into our infant and fledgling electoral system to ensure credible and transparent election.

“The extant Electoral Act (2010) which predates the concept (of card reader) is not its parent or progenitor. Since it is not the progeny of the Electoral Act, fronting it as a ground to challenge any election does not have its (the Electoral Act’s) blessing, nay Section 138 (1) of it.

“Put simply, a petitioner cannot project the non-presence or improper use of smart card reader as a ground for questioning an election. It does not qualify as one.

“On the whole, having resolved the two issues for and against the cross-appellant, the fate of the cross-appeal is obvious. It is partially-meritorious and succeeds in part. Consequently, I allow the cross-appeal in part.

“Accordingly, I affirm the portion of the trial tribunal’s decision declaring paragraph 14 of the petition as competent and triable by it. I set aside its part of the decision which approved paragraph 13 (b) as a competent ground for presenting a petition.”

well, I mean they is a conflict of interest, if these people are related, surely...
I know it is a PDP propaganda piece but damn PDP has started throwing mud, it is going to be a mud flinging contest, the next four years. we are not gonna get any work done.

In my opinion, if indeed these people are related, they is a high probability that the tribunal was compromised.

I just wish that Wike and his thugs would take after the advice of people like the writer of this article and take laws into their hands by promoting dissent and thuggery they are used to.
The PMB govt I know is just waiting for Wike and the likes of Metuh that has been talking out of line for sometime to just take it one step further and let's see if they wouldn't find themselves in the jail they rightly belong and see if every other idiot won't fall in line.
I am just hoping their threatened violence wud come to pass under this govt.
