i just see sarakis action as a time buying one, because even if he gets his sought after prayer at d supreme court, itll work only temporarily since an attoney general will soon be in place to fill d vacant cct seat, now tht pdp are no longer supporting him,apc will be hving a field day in d house, he only need to be prayerful & seek for Gods & apc mercy.

Saraki doesn't need to stress himself, he has done the needful during ministerial confirmation, the Code of Conduct Tribunal's case is as good as dead. He doesn't need to spend his money on Lawyers anymore...lolz wink wink wink

Saraki wouldn't be fighting this hard if he is sure of beating the case.

Gradually he is ggoing to erode any public sympathy he has going for him..

Still don't understand some folks escessive & obsessive desire to amass illicit wealth..

Only the reward of HARD & HONEST LABOUR has no comma!!! smiley
Deep words from you , but what would you have Mr Saraki do to free himself ?When he's aware that those that are calling him Mr Dishonesty aren't better than himself. He who comes to equity must come with clean hands .The APC is a demonic party who would use any means necessary to bring anyone to where they want him and this isn't about corruption but a pure grand plan by the APC to stifle out any opposition in Nigeria, and trust me ; we are all fuccked again.

This 'change' is a scam.

dayo23:
Nigeria’s Senate President, Bukola Saraki has stated that he will head to the Supreme Court in search of justice after a Court of Appeal ruled against him.

Saraki’s position was conveyed by his lead lawyer, Mohammed Mogaji. He revealed that Senator Saraki would file a further appeal at the Supreme Court.

Saraki wanted the appellate court stop his trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal, where he has been charged on 13-counts with false asset declaration.

Delivering judgment today, Justice Moore Agumanen, who read a majority verdict of the Court of Appeal morning upheld the trial of Senate President, Bukola Saraki at the Code of Conduct Tribunal.

Reading the verdict of two of the three man panel, he said the tribunal, which docked the Senate President on 22 September and 21 October was properly constituted, thus trashing one of the grounds of the objections to the trial by Senate President and his lawyers.

The dissenting third judge, Justice Joseph Ekanem however ruled that Saraki’s appeal has merit.

On the contrary, the majority judges, including Justice Mohammed Mustapha, in their verdict said the tribunal led by Danladi Umar could sit with the chairman and one other member.

Agumanen said they relied on section 28 of the Interpretation Act to reach the decision.

He said the Code of Conduct Tribunal and Code of Conduct Bureau Act and the constitution did not talk about a quorum.

In a further blow to the Senate President, the majority judges said the CCT has criminal jurisdiction, though limited.

The judges also ruled that the Code of Conduct Tribunal has powers to issue a bench warrant.

The court further ruled that the solicitor-general can institute proceedings in the absence of the attorney-general since the office of the AGF is statutory and cannot die whether the AGF is in court or not.

I will be the last person in Nigeria to take igbo people serious. Dont respect their words cos they are talkers.............

BEFORE: Saraki is going no where. Saraki till 2019. bla bla bla
NOW: Saraki is going down. your days are numbered.

You people should think very well before talking or doing things. This is how Ojukwu started what killed more than 2 million igbos cos of lack of thinking and lack of consultation.
Politics/constitution/rule of law is different from ordinary or personal feelings.

Don't mind him. He was tricked by apc politifcians to confirm amaechi as minister and that his case against ccb would be dropped.

We need Judiciary reform. The Supreme court should not be hearing cases like this. This is an appeal to stop a trial. Supreme court justices are over worked.

The President has VETO to overuse, sort of, the senate and appoint ANY NOMINEE as minister, in the long run.. The constitution stipulates 21days after nominee hasn't been returned confirmed... I think there a whole lot of young folks on nairaland that are just too inexperienced and unlettered/unexpired to understand alot of things..

It is good Sakari lawyers are testing the validity of the CCT up to the highest court in the land. Once and for all, the Supreme Court will put to rest any further controversies. I actually pity Saraki financially, his lawyers are going to eat deep into his pockets. The real case has not even actually started, they are just battling the legality of the CCT to preside over the case. These wicked lawyers actually know the position of the court, I remember vividly that the Chairman told the lead counsel of Saraki legal team that his mere argument has been tested. Now I wonder why he is wasting both the time of his principal and his stolen wealth.

I believe once the law is upheld, all the nitty-gritty stupidity will stop and we are back to hearing the false declaration. I also believe Saraki might walk free

Na lie.The judiciary is the last of of the highest bidder call politicians. If an ordinary man steals goat, the judge will sentence him to life imprisonment without an option of fine.Simply because he cannot bid his freedom. But when a politician steals #20b,he.is fine #500k and set free.

Saraki is yet to understand the Nigerian Politics terrain. He played his last card yesterday by confirming Amaechi.

Well, hes OYO.
Re: CCT Trial: Saraki Heads To Supreme Court by Nobody: 1:42pm On Oct 30, 2015
Until the pdp come to terms that bubu does not interfere in judicial matter. They would know that change has really come.

If Ameachi is found guilty tomorrow by the law court. He would face the consequences.

A word is enough for the Wise.
Behold our change!

He has no choice else another SP would confirm when he finally leaves the office.

If Ameachi crime is still an allegation by mere pained pdp gangs. Nothing will happen.
