Google is one of the biggest search engines you can ever think of, the others being Bing and Yahoo.
What's the meaning of XYZ?
ANSWER- Google it! We hear this quite often don't we?
Well, despite the popularity of Google search, many individuals are yet to make the best use of the search bar. So here are various methods you can use to get the best out of Google search.
Here we go:

1. Words / phrases

"grade" =search for the word 'grade' only.

grade-level =search only for the word 'grade' but not 'level' or any other synonym.

~grade =search all terms related to the word 'grade'.

grade AROUND(3) level =search the two words but this time telling Google how far apart the words 'grade' and 'level' should be. 3 or lower indicates how close they should be, from 3 upward indicate how far they should be.

gradeANDlevel =Search for both terms;the two terms should appear together in search results.

cap(blackORwhite) =Search returns results for caps ranging from black and white.

gradefiletype:ppt =Search for a 'grade' PowerPoint file. Similarly typing gradefiletype:mp4 returns results for the mp4 files.

intitle:grade =search for documents with the title 'grade'.

*grade =search for words related to the term grade.


2. Definitions / Authors

author:mike =search about the author Mike.

define:grade =search for the definition of the word grade.

3. Websites / domains

site:example.com = returns search results only from the domain 'example.com'.

link:example.com =search for domains that link to 'example.com'.

related:example.com =search for sites similar to 'example.com'

cache:example.com =view site as crawled by Google.

info:example.com =search gives information about the site. Information like links to the site and cached pages.



4. Arithmetics / Unit conversions

[+, -, *:and /] basic arithmetic operations can be performed right on the search bar.

Similarly, unit and currency conversion can take place in the search bar.

20 pounds in kilograms =search converts 20 pounds to kilograms. The same applies to currencies.
