Any confirmation pls from Nairalanders?

A friend of mine told me that there is ongoing plan by the Salaries and Wages Commission to stop the payment of all pecularity allowances to concerned civil servants, because according to them, it is illegal.

Presently, workers that are involved in peculare services such as health workers, tertiary institution workers, airport workers, fire service workers etc enjoy the allowances.

Can anybody shade more light pls, cause the rumour is spreading like wild fire and that could be very desasterous to the government and serious set back to civil/public service.

He even said there is a memo served to their office to that effect. He lectures in one of the Federal Tertiary Institutions.

It is an allowance paid to civil servants rendering specified jobs (peculiar services).

I have said it before. The masses will suffer more in this administration, cost have skyrocketed yet government is indirectly reducing the take home pay of civil servants giving it many names to justify their action thereby suffering the masses. Well, when they were overfed, they said many things against the person that made them have surplus and fought him, now they must vomit everything while their tormentor shields all his corrupt friends. Let them keep Suffering and smiling.
