We can find that the spirituality of the African American is strong, the Black conscious movement, though not a traditional as on the continent, is very astute at tracing the African Americans history the Motherland Africa. We have numerous authors, professors, doctors, teachers and lecturers of African studies, that have taken us from Egypt, to Morocco, to Timbuktu. Also African Americans seem to enjoy the good life of America, lots of Black millionaires, Hollywood stars and music industry giants, all enjoying all the pleasures money can buy. But hidden underneath the cameras, and the places they don't show the world, is countless African American ghettos. Huge decadent areas of poverty, malnutrition, lack of education and opportunity, homelessness, incarceration, disease and mental illness. As the African American community, despite having the first Black President, numerous elected Blacks local, state and federal government, including Black participating in Freemasonry; Greek Fraternities and Sororities, there still remains this dark decadence that is crushing the spirit of the people. Millions of African American youth unemployed, hanging on corners, downtown shopping areas, in libraries and public places, harassed and targeted by brutal police and not wanted anywhere. What is missing in the African American world is economic development but I'm afraid my people are too tarnished by the memory or racist retaliation by envious Whites and treacherous Blacks for striving to develop economically.
