Our client is a young & growing Microfinance Bank. The bank is positioning it’s operations for better efficiency, improved coordination and ultimately, profitability. To achieve this, the company is looking to fill the under-listed position within its organizational structure:

Job Title Managing Director/CEO
Job Type: Full-Time
Location: Ibadan
Department/Division: Executive
Reports to: Board of Directors
Salary: Highly Competitive


JOB SUMMARY:

The CEO will assume overall managerial accountability for the services and staff of the company. He will implement and ensure the attainment of the bank’s strategic goals and objectives and with the chair, enable the Board to fulfill its governance function. He will also give direction and leadership toward the achievement of the Bank's philosophy, mission and strategy as well as oversee all operational, financial and legal affairs of the Bank.

SPECIFIC DUTIES
1. Organizational Management
• Plans, formulates, and recommends for the approval of the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee operational policies and programs that will further the vision and mission of the company.

2. Operation of the Administrative Office:
• Directs and coordinates approved programs, projects, and major activities of the staff.
• Obtains maximum utilization of the staff by clearly defining duties, establishing performance standards, conducting performance reviews, and recommending competitive salary structure.

3. Product Development
• Review current products, including structure, pricing and risk levels.
• Analyze and evaluate potential for new product offerings

4. Public Relations
• Oversee relations with the member associations, CBN and other financial establishments.
• Appoint staff members to represent the company in external business functions and meetings
• Maintains effective relationships with other organizations, both public and private, and sees that the goals and objectives of the company is in accordance with the policies of the CBN.

5. Financial Management
• Provide recommendations regarding effective utilization of long and short term debt, including refinancing and purchasing/sales.

6. Staff Administration
• Ensure that all staff members receive appropriate training to perform their jobs effectively. Revise staff job descriptions when necessary to increase efficiency and achievement of the organization’s goals, with input from staff and other appropriate resources.

PERSONALITY SYNOPSIS:
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style.
• Ability to delegate responsibilities effectively
• Highly articulate, ability to work independently, assertive and persistent to solve problems and get results.

SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
• Advanced knowledge of Microfinance policies and practices.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with federal, state, regional, and local agencies, community leaders/Union heads, and the general public.
• Budget development and oversight experience
• Ability to operate a personal computer and use Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounts, Business Management or related field
• A minimum of seven years of experience in business management, planning and financial oversight in a reputable financial institution
• Strong background and work experience administering/ leading the functional activities of a Microfinance Bank.
• Advanced Professional membership or an MBA will be an added advantage
