I wish to use this opportunity to reiterate that Recruitment for Shell Graduate Programme is 100% transparent. I'm not saying this just because I'm one of the successful ones but because I have met a good number of guys who didn't have the much talked about connections but were recruited. Instead of dwelling in the mentality of 'connections', one should find out what to do to make one stand out. I'm not dismissing the fact that for one to get recruited in some companies in Nigeria, one require 'connections' but that doesn't mean that people don't get jobs without 'connections'. Shell Recruitment Day is one of the most transparent recruitment process in the globe.The fact is that it's a slow process, shell nigeria receives over 26000 appplications every year for less than 20 positions(you know what that means). The Assessed Internship is another means to enter into shell.
Just the way we apply for Shell Graduate program is the same way you apply for internship program.
They advertise the program when they want but you go through the program for 1 year before they decide if they wanna keep you or not.
You can check the career site on a regular basis to know when to apply. www.shell.com/careers

Assessed internship is for 4th year students of engineering and geosciences.It's not for graduates.

I don't know the time. I'm pretty sure another SRD will be held before the end of the year. Last year some guys did SRD by Sept/Oct. Like I said earlier, its based on business need.

Not exactly how it works here in Nigeria.

For Shell assessed Internship in Nigeria, they go directly to selected universities to request for the top performing students in select engineering and geoscience disciplines. These are students usually in their 4th year of study and eligible for Industrial training.
The selected students then apply, write the online exams then successful ones do a phone interview ( similar to first two stages in SRD)

Successful peeps are then recruited to intern with shell. During the period of internship, they will work on a project and are assigned to a mentor and supervisor. At the end of the project duration ( usually 3-6 months) they defend this project in the presence of their Supervisor, mentor, an external assessor and a HR personell.
The result of their project defence coupled with the the rating of their performance as observed by their supervisor and mentor during the period of the project execution is what is now used in grading them.
This mirrors the Assessment Center day only that it is spread through a period.

That's the process that made Andytoc a shell staff
