The All Progressives Congress has assured Nigerians that it will
not renege on its campaign promise to
pay 5,000 Naira each monthly to 25 million most vulnerable Nigerians, while calling on the citizens to ignore the mischievous attempt by the PDP to confuse and mislead them on this issue.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Friday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party said even though the PDP-led Federal Government plundered the common wealth in its time, it (APC) has devised creative means not only to pay the money but also to fulfill its other campaign
promises to Nigerians.

It said the non-implementation of the payment policy so far is due to the fact that it was not included in the 2015
budget, which was prepared by the PDP-led Jonathan Administration, and also because of the need to first block
all financial leakages.

”Now, the Buhari administration has been busy putting into place measures that will make it possible to start the implementation of this project. Such measures include the introduction
of the Treasury Single Account (TSA).

”We are happy to inform Nigerians that as of the end of September 2015, over 1.4 trillion Naira – which hitherto was
lying unproductively in various commercial banks – has been recovered
and paid into the TSA,” APC said.

The party said that in its usual jumpy and superficial approach to issues, the PDP has already rushed to judgement on the issue without bothering to hear from the APC, which made the promise in the first instance.

So APC are serious about plunging our economy into more deadly recession?

What economic benefit is paying youth 5k biko?

Over 100 000 000 000naira to be wasted on nothing when you can actually use the money to create jobs that can pay them 50000naira undecided

Give them (Lazy and bigotry youths) hope but never satisfaction.
Its a simple game called "Keep the fake hope alive".

Instead of the youths to unite and take their destiny into their hand, many are here praying and wishing that the good for nothing politicians do it for them, hence turning them into praise singers.

Sentiments apart, I commend the IPOB youths for this unification of purpose even if it were for the test running their strength or the fun of it.

Nice one. One will be foolish to think that the promises will take place without first budgeting for it.

If PMB can't pay, he would give reasons and Nigerians will understand. It is better to follow Someone who tells u the truth than someone who hides it from you.

Pdp still shows no directional thinking. Just making fun of a serious govt. When they would realize that the change is here will be too late for them to meet up. I see them only in the history books anyway.

Much as I agree with you on this but I'll also say you said it in bad faith until I see your reaction when PDP issued a statement on this matter.

See as Zombies have made themselves look like footballs before APC. Lie Mohammed and the APC senators are tossing and passing the footballs (APC Zombies) to each other.

APC should just scrap this 'clueless' part from their manifesto.
It is plainly misplaced priority.
Throw those funds into power, mining, farming, refining . . . soft loans for entrepreneurs, house mortgages and equipment purchase loans.

I never knew our graduate youths are this hungry crying over N5000. What is N5000 compared to the stress and difficulties they passed through during their duration in school?

With all the monies reportedly saved through TSA and other means the government couldn't pay salaries on time due to "crashed computers ".

Cluelessness has a new definition.

I wouldn't expect the government on the other hand to implement the 5k plan because they didn't draw this budget.

People should also be reasonable in their expectations.
