He was from Amaigbo in present day Imo state. He became one of the most successful boxers to come out of Nigeria. When Biafra was declared, he supported Biafra. He even had the Biafran anthem played for him before the start of every fight instead of the Nigerian anthem. He was made a lieutenant in the Biafran army propaganda wing. When the war ended in 1970, he was diagnosed with Cancer and died shortly afterwards.

His spirit will rejoice when Biafra is actualised .

This is the type of patriotism, a real nation like Biafra can evoke out of her citizens.

Dick tiger left the comfort of his home abroad, to fight for Biafra.

Christopher Okigbo, an intellectual, left the safety of his library and books, to enroll into the Biafran Army. He died in the battle front defending Biafraland from invaders that now wish Biafrans to see them as fellow countrymen , Chukwu aju!

May the Labour of our heroes past not be in vain.
