Kingbilo:
OP, So because she gave N20 you now know how much she has donated to God abi? I usually just put any little thing in my pocket as offering sometimes it's N50.. But I plan my real offering in private maybe not even to the church but a donation directly to a charity or orphanage. Churches already making so much tax free money. I'd rather help those in need directly.
God doesn't just live in your church.. He is in the eyes of everyone in need of assistance.. Your Lord Jesus said it himself. "Whatsoever you do to the least of my brothers is what you do unto me.."

Wetin it concern you how much she gives? You come here quoting bible scriptures yet your judging that girl for putting 20 naira in envelope, shouldn't you be reading that bible you quoted instead of judging her and youths that you claim pay peanuts?
Maybe you are the pastor son hence you are trying to urge others put more towards your private bank account. |

In my own Church, tithes and offerings are used for the expansion of God's Kingdom here on earth eg Evangelism, paying of staff salaries including that of Pastor, church needs etc. So, we give to God and not man. That is why I will keep on giving God my best. 1 Like |

Op you are very wrong to have looked @ what other ppl are giving. It is none of your business except of course you are one of the greedy pastors out there. Pastors forcing their members to challenge God with huge amount of money...smh. The Bible stated it clearly that many shall come in my name,so we know they are here already |

CrazyMan: Good morning and happy sunday to you all.
I'm writing this piece to notify most christian youths of their giving attitude towards God. I remember last sunday when I went to church, when it was time for offering, the girl sitting close to me just removed N20 (yes you heard me right TWENTY NAIRA!) From her purse, inserted it into the envelope and dropped it in the offering basket.
Looking at this lady, her sophisticated dressing, her phone, the kind of perfume oozing out from her, then dropping N20 to her creator.
To me I saw that as an insult to God. It would have been better if she didn't give any offering at all than embarrassing God.
If you love someone and want to appreciate him/her, even if you lack the funds to do so at the moment, you'll still go beyond your limits to prove to that person that you really love him/her regardless of what it'll cost you.
Likewise God. If we say we love him (God), then we should prove it by the kind of offerings we give to him.
If you have a boss you want to appreciate for a promotion he gave to you, would you give him a gift of N20 or N50?
Or you're a final year student whom your HOD just waived a course for so you'll graduate with your mates, would you buy him a gift of N20?
You'll end up provoking him and make him regret offering you that help rather than being commended for the gift.
In 2Samuel 24:24 David said.
And the king said unto Araunah, Nay; but I will surely buy it of thee at a price: neither will I offer burnt offerings unto the Lord my God of that which doth cost me nothing. So David bought the threshingfloor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver.
So if a whole king like david refused to take a land offered free of charge by a law abiding citizen. How much more we who battle with foundational principalities and powers on daily basics, and still come out victorious. Thanks to the power in the name and blood of Jesus.
I want to charge us today that as we go to our various churches, we should appreciate God, if if we have nothing to thank him for, our being alive should be a testimony of his love towards us. So double your offerings by giving him something that cost you much and I'm sure that he in return would bless you abundantly.
Happy sunday to you all. well I love giving any amount I av. Am lookn 4ward 4 d day I wil gving millions as my tithe 2 GOD. Wat GOD reali need 4rm us is our hrt of good praize and good offeriing 2 him. 1 Like |

Not that he is judging, he is trying to correct the mentality of those that think that offering belongs to man. If u are in a church that the Pastor eats tithes and offering pls, come out. When we give, it is for the expansion of God's kingdom on earth. We give to God not man. I celebrate u sir. |

CrazyMan:
Yes its going to the pastor, but the pastor is working for God.
In luke 10:7 Jesus said
And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house.
What does the word "eating and drinking" mean...I'll explain.
Most pastors work full time which means their survival depends on the tithes and offerings.
Others are posted to remote villages to preach the gospel with little or nothing given to them for survival. How do you expect them to cope if you have the intention of giving N10 offering?
During Jesus stay on earth, despite the fact that he never worked, it was recorded that he had a tax collector, a tax collector can be interpreted to as an accountant. So its safe to conclude that Jesus had an account.
Question is who were funding the account, it was simply his followers who were touched by his message...that's how his ministry was able to survive. Cos people were bringing in offerings, donations...etc.
When we become stingy to God's work, we're simply hindering the flow of the gospel. When you give N10 to God's servant and expect him to run the church and his family with it, don't complain when you're being owed 3-8months salary in your place of work cos you brought it upon yourself. @bolded, I was enjoying & identifying with your comment because I thought you were making sense until you messed up your argument with the bolded text above. You are a wicked christian trying to justify the needless hardship the robbers called politicians have subjected the precious people of Nigeria to. Next time ensure you have a proper thought process while putting words together in response to sensitive issues such as this ok. Bye. 1 Like |

I pay my tithes and I know it is a good thing to pay tithes and give offerings in Church. The thing is I don't look at what other members of the church I attend give when it comes to tithes and offerings. I know God has been blessing me since the day I decided to start paying my tithes. And I was not forced to pay tithes by my Pastor. The hand that gives is always Blessed. Cheers. |

N20 multiply by 1000 members = N20,000
And the is just one day offering. Some churches do 2-3 offerings in a week. And this is in a country with more than 60% youth unemployment. Some workers don't even make up to N20,000 for the whole month. |

Yesterday we were slaves to the Europeans, the Arabs, the Americans. The day before that , we were slaves to our local priests and juju men. And today? We are today slaves to abrahamic gods and their fraud agents. Haba. Isn't it time we tell this god and his horde of self-appointed cashiers and bursers to stick it, and go find a job. 5 Likes 2 Shares |
