Father Escapes Sons’ Lynching For Re-marrying by makzeze: 6:37am On Nov 10, 2015 |
A fifty six-year-old man was nearly lynched on Sunday by his two sons at their residence in Phase 2, Site 2, Kubwa, Bwari Area Council of the FCT for taking another wife after the demise of their mother in 2008. The duo, Nsikak and Joshua Ekpenyong, were said to be angry with their father because he did not seek their consent before taking the decision to re-marry. City News gathered that the father had suffered series of assaults from the children, including the accusation that he married a girl who is of the same age with their girlfriends. “The insults became unbearable and the new wife who gave birth to a two-year-old baby for their father was forced to run away from the house with the baby,” a source said. The source further said the victim on several occasions had lost some huge sums of money and other valuable items to the sons as they took advantage of his absence to ransack his room. According to the source, on that fateful day the older son, a 22-year-old undergraduate, went into the father’s room as usual, with the same intention without knowing that his father was inside. “As soon as the man accosted the son, the other brother joined and they beat him up,” it added. City News however learnt that the man raised an alarm as the beating became overwhelming which attracted neighbours who in turn alerted the police, leading to the arrest of the duo. Reacting to the incident, the Kubwa Divisional Police Officer, Chief Superintendent Nurruddeen Sabo, said the father had asked the police not to go ahead with the matter, saying he had forgiven them. http://dailytrust.com.ng/news/city-news/father-escapes-sons-lynching-for-re-marrying/118609.html |

lnstead of the 2 boys to forge out their own lives, they are busy poke nosing into their father's! The man should get a restraining order against the duo. |

The boys are simply hurting. Losing a parent especially a mother at an early age is never easy. A bit of counseling will help both the father and the boys. In the first place who knows how the man treated their mum before her death? Could the boys be on a revenge mission? The man actually ought to have sat down with the boys and explained to them in love that they need a new mother. The focus is not just him but also the children, that's the reality. The man has to back down, call his sons and show them love, they are hurting. I believe if it's well handled, the children will be the ones begging him to re marry. It's never going to work forcefully. Those boys are big, they will either kill him or continually frustrate any other woman, because she is seen as an intruder. |
