For many years when you look at Manchester United’s captain Wayne Rooney have you thought: “yeah, he could have been a boxer.” Me too. Well, Rooney and his brothers did have plenty of experience in the ring in Liverpool as youngsters and that work paid off in Manchester on Monday as he slapped WWE star Wade Barrett to bring the house down. Rooney, 30, attended the WWE event at the Manchester Arena with his sons, current Manchester United assistant manager Ryan Giggs and former United teammate and now West Brom captain Darren Fletcher.
