Buhari wants to use this golden opportunity to loot all he can while he is in charge, they said he never stole in the past and I guess he is not happy about not being as rich as IBB, the Abachas and OBJ. He has realised that "fisrt fool no be fool, na second fool be proper foolish". So all he wants is to grab and loot our oil money with his northern cohorts. He should have been interested in the ministry of defence where we are having the greatest crisis not petroleum where he can loot without being questioned.
Let him loot as much as Gej after all he is d president na his oil money. He easy 2 spend money contest 4X,if u no like Go & Die!

Lets take a brief look at the constitution of this great country:

Section 5.1 Subject to the provisions of this Constitution, the executive powers of the Federation:

(a) shall be vested in the President and may subject as aforesaid and to the provisions of any law made by the National Assembly, be exercised by him either directly or through the Vice-President and Ministers of the Government of the Federation or officers in the public service of the Federation;

Clearly, Executive Powers to run the affairs of the country are vested in the President. I'm sure there is no dispute here

Section 148.1 The President may, in his discretion, assign to the Vice-President or any Minister of the Government of the Federation responsibility for any business of the Government of the Federation, including the administration of any department of government.

Here again, the constitution clearly states that the President has the discretion of assigning the responsibility for the administration of any department of government, including that of the Ministry of Petroleum, to the Vice-President or any Minister.

Section 5.1 & 148.1 above mean that the executive power to run the Ministry of Petroleum can be assigned to the VP or any Minister, or exercised directly by the President.

Buhari is gradually unfolding his grand plan to loot what he did not in his previous stints in government. Instead of looking the way of defence where we currently have a crisis as a result of insurgency in the north east, he is going after the much coveted oil. Maybe he wants to become richer than IBB, OBJ and the Abachas by the end of 2019.

Per the bolded, it could not be stated any better. Most Nigerians, due to weighty tribalism, have become dingbats.

The question would have been if one same individual can be petroleum minster for two time even though at different times? Buhari is here to thief again. He was a former petrleum thief minister. He was also a thief chairman in ptdf and today, he is here to thief from the most popular 5% voter zone. Whatever things you will want to do with the petroleum monies, may you never move forward an inch. You openly announced to the world that zone gave you only 5%, that you will personally ensure those people never know peace, you have decided to turn round and thief from that same region. Na thief go make that your dry fire wood body dry more and more. Tufiakwa to Buhari. See hin strong barbed wire face

See who you are tongue tongue tongue

What a frustrated fellow!

Your stupidity is inbuilt, so SE own all the crude oil thats been refined in Nigeria Can you ask yourself what the country had really benefited from the previous administrations who appointed thieves to manage the sector. The last time a common man on the street felt the goodies from that sector was when we had PTF, everybody gained from it and it was an idea by this same man, now search your brain and tell me what else had been benefited from that sector ever since then

the morality of the act is not the question, neither is it what we think is right or wrong. I'd like to draw our attention to the position of the constitution, which should be our guiding principle.
firstly, under section.138 - the president shall not, during his tenure of office hold any other executive office or paid employment in any capacity whatsoever.
it is important to note that ministerial appointments are under the category being described by this section of the constitution.
under section 148 sub section 1, the president may, in his discretion, assign to the vice-president or any minister of the government of the federation responsibility for any business of the government of the federation, including the administration of any department of government. logically looking at this provision, it is seen that, the president does not have the discretion to assign such responsibility to himself.
based on the above analysis, I believe that the president, appointing himself as the petroleum minister, is a constitutional aberration.
i ll hang around for objective, and contrary opinion
