Shakur is it. Years after his death, his releases are still relevant, and new ones are coming out. BIG is practically forgotten, except that he's in the Hip-Hop Hall of Fame and is commemorated every year.

DERS NO CONTEST HIA, DEAD & BURIED, PAC IS D GREATEST. THO, I AV DIZ FEELIN DAT HAD BIGGIE PUT A WHOLE LOTTA WORK OUT OR WORKED HIS ASS OUT LIKE PAC, RECORDIN, WRITTIN, ETC ETC LIKE PAC, IT MIGHT B HIGHLY CONTROVERSIAL. HOW DO WANT 2 COMPARE 2 ORIGINAL WORKS OF BIGGIE WIT ABOUT 10 ORIGINAL WORKS OF PAC?
Re: 2pac, B.I.G. Who made a greater impact in the hip-hop world? by Genuflect(m): 3:57pm On Jun 21, 2009
This shouldn't even result into an argument. 2pac by far had a greater influence than Big. He was just everything in one. And also a workaholic. But Big had a better lyrical flow and his freestyles were crazy too. But impact and influence wise, Pac na bros.
Re: 2pac, B.I.G. Who made a greater impact in the hip-hop world? by mystikal(m): 8:02pm On Jun 21, 2009
2pac was aight. people obviously loved his intensity, thuggery n overall bad boy image. we all love gangsters!

biggie knew how 2 tell a story and play with words n above all, he did it with such smooth style n grace.

they were both great artiste in thier time. Tupac obviously had more impact in the Hip Hop world Than B.I.G, But I'd rather lock myself up 2 and listen to BIGGIE's songs than AmARU's

It doesn't matter now. What matters is that they both came, scratched the world in their own ways, and now they are as dead as any of the saints of old.

Quick everyone,

Before 2pac joined Deathrow how good was he?

Because I honestly believe his career took of when Suge Knight went to bail him out of prison and took him to Deathrow, Then he had already released 2 albums then they were good but not as good as Snoop dogs's debut album "Doggy Style" or Dr Dre's Chronic that came out the same time, Ice Cube, the late Eazy-E, these were heavy hitters in the hip hop world

But Biggies debut album was a hit from day one

Re: 2pac, B.I.G. Who made a greater impact in the hip-hop world? by omar22(m): 1:30pm On Nov 10, 2009
@omar22 What's your point?

2pac career, popularity kicked off when he changed from the story telling to thuggery, practically Deathrow took him to another level, but during his early career he wasnt in the top bracket of hip hop stars
I cant say who was the best because we would never know
Re: 2pac, B.I.G. Who made a greater impact in the hip-hop world? by Genuflect(m): 1:42pm On Nov 10, 2009
@omar22 Dude, did you read the question? Who made more impact not who is the best. And how does when his career kicked off relate with the thread topic? Dude, pay attention next time

rappers steal BIG's punchlines more in the industry. EG. "I've seen some lady tonight and she'll be having my baby" "like my necklace started relaxin, now that's what the Bleep i call a chain reaction", to mention a few. but basically, PAC made the bigger impact especially politically. so my winner is PAC.
Re: 2pac, B.I.G. Who made a greater impact in the hip-hop world? by hadexman(m): 7:27pm On Nov 10, 2009
(Bleep all you hoes) Get a grip motherfucker.

Yeah, this album is dedicated to all the teachers that told me
I'd never amount to nothin', to all the people that lived above the
buildings that I was hustlin' in front of that called the police on
me when I was just tryin' to make some money to feed my daughters,
and all the niggaz in the struggle, you know what I'm sayin'?

Uh-ha, it's all good baby bay-bee, uh

[Verse One:]

It was all a dream
I used to read Word Up magazine
Salt'n'Pepa and Heavy D up in the limousine
Hangin' pictures on my wall
Every Saturday Rap Attack, Mr. Magic, Marley Marl
I let my tape rock 'til my tape popped
Smokin' weed and bamboo, sippin' on private stock
Way back, when I had the red and black lumberjack
With the hat to match
Remember Rappin' Duke, duh-ha, duh-ha
You never thought that hip hop would take it this far
Now I'm in the limelight 'cause I rhyme tight
Time to get paid, blow up like the World Trade
Born sinner, the opposite of a winner
Remember when I used to eat sardines for dinner
Peace to Ron G, Brucey B, Kid Capri
Funkmaster Flex, Lovebug Starsky
I'm blowin' up like you thought I would
Call the crib, same number same hood
It's all good

Uh, and if you don't know, now you know, nigga, uh

[Chorus:]

You know very well who you are
Don't let em hold you down, reach for the stars
You had a goal, but not that many
'cause you're the only one I'll give you good and plenty

[Verse Two:]

I made the change from a common thief
To up close and personal with Robin Leach
And I'm far from cheap, I smoke skunk with my peeps all day
Spread love, it's the Brooklyn way
The Moet and Alize keep me pissy
Girls used to diss me
Now they write letters 'cause they miss me
I never thought it could happen, this rappin' stuff
I was too used to packin' gats and stuff
Now honies play me close like butter played toast
From the Mississippi down to the east coast
Condos in Queens, indo for weeks
Sold out seats to hear Biggie Smalls speak
Livin' life without fear
Puttin' 5 karats in my baby girl's ears
Lunches, brunches, interviews by the pool
Considered a fool 'cause I dropped out of high school
Stereotypes of a black male misunderstood
And it's still all good

Uh, and if you don't know, now you know, nigga

[Verse Three:]

Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis
When I was dead broke, man I couldn't picture this
50 inch screen, money green leather sofa
Got two rides, a limousine with a chauffeur
Phone bill about two G's flat
No need to worry, my accountant handles that
And my whole crew is loungin'
Celebratin' every day, no more public housin'
Thinkin' back on my one-room shack
Now my mom pimps a Ac' with minks on her back
And she loves to show me off, of course
Smiles every time my face is up in The Source
We used to fuss when the landlord dissed us
No heat, wonder why Christmas missed us
Birthdays was the worst days
Now we sip champagne when we thirst-ay
Uh, damn right I like the life I live
'Cause I went from negative to positive
And it's all,

(It's all good)

, and if you don't know, now you know, nigga, uh
Uh, uh, and if you don't know, now you know, nigga
Uh, and if you don't know, now you know, nigga, uh

Representin' B-Town in the house, Junior Mafia, mad flavor, uh
Uh, yeah, a-ight

Get it into ya head, ya mother fuckers grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin Biggy Smalls rules

You did not just compare biggie to ma homie pac,

Tupac was a legend and everything he says are some how connected. He came from a "not too rich" family yet they where very popular in the USA. You just cant compare there two niggaz. For instance, listen to 2pac CHANGES. You can't compare any of Christopher Wallace's hit to Changes. Listen to Pac's words and you will know he wasn't just into gangsta rap, He is also a great poet. Greatest ever.

We love you Pac.
