The following vacancies has arisen in Microfinance Bank in Abuja, Nigeria:


1. Director, Financial Control & Corporate Services (Ref: THMGT-01)
The successful candidate shall be responsible for Financial Control, Treasury Management, Administration and People Management.

Technical Competences

Essential:
o Strong analytic skills. Ability to conduct credit analysis and to think strategically using financial analysis.
o Excellent communication skills. Ability to present financial information effectively to both specialists and non-specialists.
o Candidate must have a strong leadership and people management skills.
o Must have Assets and Liability (ALCO) Management Skills
o Treasury Management and Risk management skills

Desirable in:
o Attention to details in business management, quality management and risk management.
o Good understanding of money market operations will be an added advantage.
o Excellent Administrative Skills and good knowledge of Human Resources management.
o Superior Computer Skills.

Behavioural Competences
• Able to relate to others and use interpersonal skills to achieve desired result.
• Able to influence the behaviour and decisions of people on matters relating to his/her job.
• Able to cope with change, to be flexible and to handle uncertainty.
• Able to make sense of issues, identify and solve problems and ‘think on one’s feet’.
• Result oriented
• Able to communicate well orally and in writing.
• Appreciable balance and concern for small and Micro entrepreneurs; and be Committed to the Social mission of Microfinance.

Qualifications/Experience
• An honour BSc (2.1) or HND (Upper Credit) in Management, Finance or Social Sciences discipline from a recognised institution or a relevant professional qualification alongside a degree in any other discipline.
• Minimum of five (5) years working experience in the Financial Control, Treasury or Accounts department of a Financial Institution.
• A recognised professional qualification (or studying towards professional qualification) such as ACA, ACCA, and CFA will be an advantage.


2. Director, Credit & Risk Management (Ref: THMGT-02)
Successful candidate will be responsible for installing a sound credit risk management process and operating procedures that will ensure quality lending administration, risk management and excellent service delivery.

Technical Competences

• Essential:

o Sound understanding of prudential guidelines with particular emphasis on microfinance banks.
o Strong analytic skills.
o Ability to conduct credit analysis and to think strategically using financial analysis.
o Attention to details in business management, quality management and risk management.

Desirable in:
o Excellent communication skills.
o Ability to present financial information effectively to both specialists and non-specialists.
o Candidate must have a strong leadership and people management skills.
o Good understanding of money market operations will be an added advantage.

Special Demands
• Must appreciate the peculiar financial and credit needs of micro enterprises and the poor.
• Must be able to generate growth through credit to micro enterprises and the poor.

3. Director, Business Development & Market Intelligence (Ref: THMGT-03)
Successful candidate will be responsible for developing a customer base for the bank, identify target market groups and design marketing strategies and plans for achieving bank's objectives.

Technical Competences

• Essential:

o Good knowledge of retail product development
o Must be able to conduct extensive market research including up to date business intelligence in the Microfinance industry.
o Must exhibit quality leadership skills and be a team player/builder.
o Must be able to identify customer need and ensure profitable product development to meet those needs.
o Must be deft and comfortable in promoting the bank’s products and services.

Desirable:
o Knowledge of micro, small and medium enterprise market segments in Nigeria and particularly Abuja and environs.

Behavioural Competences
• Able to relate to others and use interpersonal skills to achieve desired result.
• Able to influence the behaviour and decisions of people on matters relating to his/her job
• Able to cope with change, to be flexible and to handle uncertainty.

Qualifications/Experience
• Honours degree (BSc (2.1) or its equivalent) in any discipline.
• Minimum of Five (5) years working experience in the credit and marketing department of a reputable company preferable a bank/financial institutions.
• Experience in retail/consumer marketing, especially at branch level is desirable.

Special Demands
• Since this is a “start-up” financial institution, the Candidate needs to be a dynamic self-starter capable of energizing his or her staff Treasury Management.
• Candidate should be able to generate growth in customer base and achieve high customer retention.

4. Head, Operations and IT (Ref: THMGT-04)
Successful candidate will be responsible for transaction services in the bank and supervise the entire banking operation processes.
He/She is expected to provide strong leadership to the front and back office staff within the organization and manage their development and oversees the institution’s delivery of financial products.
He/She shall supervise the development and deployment of a state of the art MIS and Banking Application and ensure all Computer Hardware and software are in constant working conditions.

Technical Competences

• Essential:

o Sound knowledge of banking operations processes.
o Must exhibit quality supervisory, organization and leadership skills.
o Must be able to install a cost effective delivery system to meet the banks customer needs.
o Must be a team player

Desirable:
o Must be IT-savvy and a quick learner.

Behavioural Competences
• Able to relate to others and use interpersonal skills to achieve desired result.
• Able to influence the behaviour and decisions of people on matters relating to his/her job
• Able to cope with change, to be flexible and to handle uncertainty.
• Able to make sense of issues, identify and solve problems and ‘think on one’s feet’.

• Able to communicate well orally and in writing.
• Appreciable balance and concern for small and Micro entrepreneurs; and be Committed to the Social mission of Microfinance.

Qualifications/Experience
• Good honours BSc in any field.
• Minimum of four years working experience in a financial institution.


5. Head, Internal Audit (Ref: THICU-01)
The successful candidate shall be responsible for ensuring that the operations of the bank conform to the law, rules and regulations governing microfinance banking operations in Nigeria.

He/she must ensure strict compliance with company policies and procedures:

Technical Competences

• Essential:
o Deep understanding of rules and regulations guiding micro finance banking operations.
o Superior computer skills

Behavioural Competences
• Able to cope with change, to be flexible and to handle uncertainty.
• Able to make sense of issues, identify and solve problems and ‘think on one’s feet’.
• Result oriented
• Able to communicate well orally and in writing.
• Appreciable balance and concern for small and Micro entrepreneurs; and be Committed to the Social mission of Microfinance.

Qualifications/Experience
• A good honours BSc (2.1) or HND (Upper Credit) in a management, finance or social Science discipline.
• A recognized professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, ACMA will be an advantage
• Minimum of Five years working experience in the internal control department of a financial institution
